Notes from a couple of weeks back, at a bit quicker than normal speed. Trying to listen to notes and write at the same time is hard. I really should just get a laptop, then I can type everything with barely looking... except the excessive use of symbols at times (My lecturer loves throwing in new concepts and symbols without telling us. At least once a lectur).

I put this one off for a long time! Colors are weird because I messed with contrast/brightness to get maximum legibility.

Depending on what I'm having to write out, I tend to switch from one style to another. I usually do all caps like others here, and like VTHodge I try to do each letter in one stroke. I only write in cursive when signing my name, or writing out checks.

I don't have a scanner with me, but my graders tell me that it looks like I'm writing in Chinese, or in cat scratches.(?) (two separate incidents)

My handwriting is quite embarrassing. I've been told it looks like I just scribble on the page, which I suppose is true sometimes as I often get bored mid-word and just make up the rest. Here is a sample of my normal writing which I use for things that only I will read:

Can you work out the secret message?!
Spoiler:
My handwriting is the best I know.
Most people can't tell the difference between letters and *angry scribbles* when I get bored of writing and just *more angry scribbles* scribble.
Also if I write is it usually looks like this: is.
Isn't my life great...

edit: after god knows how many attempts, still can't make the image show up. To the FAQ!

Normal format is . The problem is that the URL doesn't end with an image type extension. Just save the picture to your machine and then attach it to the post. -Hodge.

I just cropped it from a scan of one of my scrapbookpages.. The paper here is structured, so my writing is usually a tad prettier:)

A couple of writing samples... I don't have any where I tried to be neat on-hand (like, greeting cards and things like that). But a few more casual examples.

One page of my old notes from an Environmental Economics class:

I'm pretty symbol-heavy, so I've been using Japanese/Chinese symbols in my notes since I was 16-17. Same reason for having diagrams and the like in most of my notes.

Non-English, but here's a code I was using in a Serenity RPG campaign I ran a couple years ago:

I don't have a scanner hooked up so I apologize for the blurriness.
I actually prefer my writing when it's done more quickly (but still in cursive), I find the longer I spend on it the less even it comes out.

I also really like writing 'f's and 's's, for some reason.

I share your liking for f's.
They are just nice.... I like making them excessively long and elaborate.

I also like writing cursive f's. Mine tend to just have a point on the top bit, instead of the loop.

I have no idea why my handwriting changes so drastically when I'm filling out a form... Possibly something to do with my messy-as-hell print and the fact that I've come across more than a few people who have no idea how to read cursive.

Also, I've been at home all day which pretty much means, "screw being fully-clothed, I don't wanna wear a shirt." When I saw this thread I got up to go locate my (ultra-super-sexy fountain) pen. Going back to the laptop I notice the window is open. Hello, world! This wouldn't normally be a problem but there was a creepy hispanic dude gawping at me from the street. I just wrote my handwriting out ready to be scanned and posted and then I realised that my scanner/printer tends to clean itself when it gets switched on. Also it's noisy when it does this. Also it's almost 2.30am and I'm pretty sure my flatmates won't appreciate being woken by a noisy printer because I wanted to show the internet my handwriting.
