Post your miscellaneous alternate IDs here.

Postby Robin S » Thu Feb 28, 2008 12:43 pm UTC

There are already threads for specific communities, such as this one and this one. I thought it could be useful to have a general thread where people put any other IDs or contact details you don't mind other people using. For example:

On Wikipedia, I am Robin S.
My Facebook profile is here, should people wish to add me.
My MSN address can be found on my profile pages, both of this community and Facebook.
This is a placeholder until I think of something more creative to put here.

Since 2005 or so, I've used the same username for almost everything.

I don't really want to give out my AIM username or link to my Facebook profile, you can find them if you look hard enough, thanks.

Warcraft: "spielenmir"
Shimlar: "Danny_boy, Laddy_of_ireland (this caused issues because some people called me lady, not noticing the second "D")",
Myspace "D4nNy_$c3ne",
IRL: Dan, dumb ass, Spiel (see warcraft), ASS!! (because of my ass like comments that are rude and full of pun),Red, Danny.

If I'm not using a name that you're aware of elsewhere, it's unlikely I want you to find me.

I'm VTHodge pretty much everywhere, except for a couple of places where I'm HokieHodge. I'm also the only VTHodge except for one random Google result.

I used the incredibly lame "TheWayOutIsThrough" up until a year or so ago. It's still my e-mail address and my handle on at least one other forum. I'm thinking of switching to "Angry Johnny", now. I kinda like the way it sounds, plus my name really is John.

I generally use the same handle on every forum I frequent. These days that means the Giant in the Playground, though I used to post on Nightstar, Snopes, and a few gaming forums.

I've used Fossa or the full name FossaFerox or occasionally the abreviated form FossaFrx* everywhere online since about 2001 with the exception of my school email address. In retrospect I wish I had gone with it, I just thought it would look unprofessional when emailing professors and the like, silly first year choice.

*This one's just for when I already made FossaFerox and for some reason need to make a second account. In the case of my AIM I gave a friend my pw for some stupid reason in highschool and they jacked the account. AOL never got it back to me so my AIM has been FossaFrx nearly forever.

On all of my other accounts (radiation enthusiasts forums and photography groups) I'm Radioiron, an old name used in the early days of nuclear research given to any radioactive isotope of iron.

Any sort of forum site I join I tend to use Mikagon; only rarely is it different. I have a facebook but it's not all that great.

As I've said in the 'usernames' thread, I generally try 'Cheese' first, then 'Cheeeeeeeese'. Maybe 'Steve' and 'Steeeeeeeeve', if they're both taken. You're going to have to do a lot of digging to find out much about me - I don't have a facebook/myspace/bebo as of yet, and believe that there may be one reference directly to me easily available. Also, I use a name that's fairly popular (as in, usually taken), so most of what you'll find will be false leads.

Nearly every instance of Durinthal online (except for an EQ character, a Jibjab account, and any use of it as a character name in RP forums without it being the person's user name as well) is me, so.. yeah. Anything else is something I don't want connected to me.

This. If I do use a different name, it'll be because ParanoidDrone is already taken. That and it helps keep all my accounts straight--the last thing I need is to remember 5 different username/password combinations depending on which forum I'm on.

I'm DYRE almost everywhere, although Google turned up quite a few a ton of DYREs who weren't me. Also, it's a first name. Not my name, though. Bsically, Google will not help to find much about me.

I have a different name everywhere I go.

I never have numbers, always a different password (but I have an unfortunate habit of relating them to the name).

A few examples of common phrases that enter elsewhere:

The names of demons
Sub
Slave (if I'm more open than here)
the names of some favoured characters like Sothe (not Soth).

For those interested in a rehash:
AIM: Khan Abaddon
MSN: Submissive_Synthia (and my SO has a matching address)
MAIL: Notopentodisclosure@Fuck.you.spam

hmm I used to be abook or abookworm (my email address) but I bloody tired of being asked what my gender is. Thus Silverwmoon was born (the w stands for white, I get asked that too >_>).

You might see me on irc under Oddity though.
And as far as I can tell I'm the only silverwmoon when you google it.
