Confession:

I strongly suspect 90% of the fora feels that way. That's like confessing that you don't like stepping on rusty nails, or something.

For the record, I don't feel flirting is degrading?
But the rest applies :|

Me too, except for that flirting thing, which, frankly, I haven't experienced.

I like flirting occasionally. I kind of hate having crushes, though. I always end up feeling like an idiot over them.

All the intelligent, thoughful people are not in social situations usually where people meet other people, and therein lies the problem.

Eh, sometimes the internet is a good stepping-stone to meeting the intelligent, thoughtful types. Or it can be the extent of your social interaction.

Yup, that's what's excellent about the whole online forum concept.
If it makes you feel any better, they're usually much easier to find at university/college than at high school*. There are clubs and societies for this sort of thing. I will never stop thanking my lucky balls-of-shimmering-space-gas for finding Student Theatre. And they're starting a book club at my uni next semester.

*Taking a wild guess here and saying you're in high school, feel free to disregard.

I've seen people with similar user names to the one I use here, but I don't use this name on reddit. I haven't posted there in months, anyway. I just lurk now. I kind of got tired of the hive mind. It's still strange to recognize someone on another site. The internet can be a small place.

I actually wouldn't mind changing my name here. There's someone with the name Paranoid_Android, and I use this screen name on another forum. I know some people from that forum in real life and they now know that I post here, and I have said some things here about myself that I'd prefer they not read.

You don't need a laptop, just a good wireless keyboard mouse combo, that and a big TV/monitor. I usually don't have to get out of bed unless it's for a bathroom break or snack time. Man, I miss snack time.
If I get you angry, know that:
I have a talent at saying stupid things, either that or I'm drunk; and,
Normally I'd be ranting to my friends, but since they're gone, I have only the internet; and,
If I do this, call me out on it. Just don't call me crazy.

I'm not. I'm sociable (or at least I would be were it not for current circumstances). Not all smart people are bedroom geeks who never see the light of day, you know. In fact I'd bet a large amount that most intelligent people are just as sociable as less-intelligent people.

I...don't even hate small talk, really, so much as I'm sometimes not that good at it.

Or rather, I run out of it and don't really know where to go from there if I haven't somehow leveraged it into a deeper conversation at that point.

My usual respone to running out of small talk is "Random question time! What do you prefer, cat's or dogs?"

Or any other of a huge assortment of questions...

GRAGH.
Depressive things pile up and form a self-reinforcing feedback loop of sad.

I will simply REFUSE to wallow in despair. I have a house to clean and exams to learn for. And maybe friends to care about. I am redefining this into motivation to get things done. And nothing will stop me. I am not a complete wreck filled with nothing but apathy!
