Confession: Apparently, I'm not welcome in the intro thread any longer. That might be a wise choice.

Point your ill feelings at the British citizens then, not the US Armed Forces*. The US Military gets its fair share of being overlooked or looked down upon, but the vocal majority supports us, as you stated. Perhaps the British people need to remember why they are able to live in peace. If anything you should resent having a country of people who appreciate those who serve!

Confession: Because humans used to all be excellent physical shape (i.e. because they had to be), I feel like I owe it to them to be in relatively good shape as well. Like, I feel bad that I can only run for half an hour when native American messengers ran for 24 hours straight with a huge bag of mail on their backs, most every day. Today that kind of stuff is amazing to us when we see athletes do it, not because the human body isn't capable of it, but because we're all lazy nowadays.

That's probably half of the reason I'm taking up running again, just so I feel like I'm a relatively capable human.

Short version: Saladin was a mod. Still is, but he changed his name.

Saladin asked me to put a word filter on Chuck Norris, because the Chuck Norris jokes were annoying him.

He was nonspecific as to what it should be filtered to.

This is what happens.

So it was initially filtered TO C.N, but then it was reversed so C.N. comes up as Saladin's Mom?

If you write C.N. it comes up as S's.M.

Also, that is hilarious.

No, like an idiot, I just forgot that in discussing the Chuck Norris filter, it would actually filter my mentions of the man himself. I fixed my post.

Firstly, the whole point of this thread is that it's a "confessional" thread; I'm aware that my slight resentment isn't rational, which is why revealing I harbour it counts as a "confession." Secondly, I said I slightly resented the attention, not the servicepeople themselves. Thirdly, imitating the structure of my post does not strengthen your arguments, which, given your reading of my post, would have been perfectly reasonable on their own.

Expansion on an earlier confession: I think the main reason I'm so worried about this forum, is that I've hardly ever fit in, and don't completely fit in with you. Every other place I've ever signed up to on the net has:
1) Gone under, with me being dragged down with them
2) Exploded into netwar, with me either being taken down in the early stages of combat or the last one standing, without ever firing a 'shot'.
3) Kicked me out for reasons I don't understand.
4) Kicked me out for not fitting in.
5) Been taken over by an asshole, and thus not worth continuing to visit

...I guess I'm just used to shitty things on the net.

1. Unlikely at this juncture. Maybe later.
2. Unlikely. Net-wars will result in tactical-net-nuking and net-salting-of-the-earth, followed by an era of carefully controlled stability for the survivors under your complicit overlords.
3. Unlikely. We'd explain it to you.
4. Unlikely. If we were even into that sort of thing, there'd be a lot more bannings
5. Impossible. All usurpers shall be devoured.
