No use of space? Also, why? The only reason I can really think of is to free up other keys for binds, but that's only really necessary for intense (probably multi-player) fps. Or WoW or something. On another note, I have heard of people using the number pad (8,5,4,6), because it allows for a lot of binds, and it's nicely straight.

On a side note, Phil's vocals on the CFH album are harder to hear than most. They were just coming out of a glam/power metal stage, and he was still getting used to the more aggressive style.

Look up a lyric site!

Edit: This is also one of the only songs I can play and sing at the same time. :D

Okay, I sorta get it: Cowboys are cool. Because... Pirates are cool. And pirates... are supposed to be, childish. But, they are not. They're not... Nor are cowboys. Cowboys are harcore. Especially the ones from Hell...
I guess.
No, lol, just messing with you. I guess it's too Heavy Metal for a metal-n3wb like me to understand at first sight

Also, the "A whole lot of people are scared of my teeth" comes from The Blister Exists by LoseYourBalanceOnASlipperySurfaceTiedRope (try saying that in different termssorry). Great song...

Just to clear stuff out from now on...
Pantera is fucking awesome. In all ways. Cowboys from Hell is a great nickname. "Cowboys from Hell" is a great song.

(Cool you can play to that! :D When I grow up and still am as irresponisible as I am now, I will definitely drop by and listen! )

Confession: I like Slipknot so much, that I learned how to sing pretty much like Corey Taylor.

It's hard to do without fucking up your voice though. He does it the bad way, and it messes his throat right up.

I, on the other hand, do it properly. :D

But yeah, it isn't that good. I'd awesome it up, but I don't have the kind of drawing skills necessary to draw a guy with a bandana over his mouth in a trenchcoat clutching a comma close to his breast while being chased by the Grammer Police of the Oxford Dictionary.

I count the letters of words in my head to determine whether modulus 2 can be applied with a correct outcome. If there are more than 4 letters, I look for aesthetically and mentally pleasing places to divide the word up in fractions and take great joy in it.

Confession: I can micro-analyze literature, like I can tell you exactly what Hamlet is saying in his To Be or Not to Be speech, what allusions he's using, how his syntax and sound devices contribute to his point, and other things about his rhetoric.

But I am absolutely hopeless when it comes to macro-analyzing literature. Anything longer than a poem and I'm in the dark. What are the themes in Hamlet? I don't know, insanity? There's something important about how almost everyone dies by poison, but I don't know what. In the Calvin and Hobbes thread someone mentioned that the comic was all about innocence and cynicism, and I hadn't ever noticed that before, even though I absolutely love the comic. Gah, I need to pay more attention.

True. If there is anything in this world I'm not afraid of, it's needles. They just, go in, do what they do best and leave. No pain, no worries.

Not quite a confession: But needles. When I had to have the needle before i started school (so i would have just turned 5) I actually didn't even notice that it had been done.

I don't really understand how some people are so scared of them... unless you have lots of allergic reactions to them or something, i guess.

Personally, when I was in grade 1 or so, the nurse managed to break the needle for immunising me for somethingrather, while she was injecting me.

And then they had to get another needle and start over.

Is that a good enough reason?

Still, I wasn't as bad as some people :S

I Am Raven wrote:@sleepygamer: Yes, he definitely IS screwing his voice up... It's not that hard though, just mix some screaming with grunting and your throat should just be fine!

Not quite.

In your throat, you have 2 sets of vocal cords. The False cords and the True cords. The way Corey achieves his growl, is by forcing the true cords together. (I'm assuming this because he's said in a few interviews that he loses his voice a lot.) If you do it like this too much, you get nodules on your vocal cords, due to the way the rub against each other. These are bad. You can get them removed, but it can take up to a year or more for your throat to recover enough to be able to sing again. You can get these nodules via normal singing too, but the way Corey sings, it's likely to speed up the process.

The safe (and, to be honest, better sounding) way to get that growl, is to use your false cords for screaming. They are bigger and stronger (I think).

Look up the Zen Of Screaming. Melissa (the teacher) knows how it all works. I can do all that screamy stuff, and it doesn't hurt a bit.

If it hurts, you're doing it wrong.

I don't like pain, and I don't like stuff sticking into my skin. It's like I'm being bitten. And then I get scared and tense up, which makes it hurt more, which makes me freak out more...I've gotten better about them. But needles are the only reason I won't give blood, I would not be able to sit still for that long with a needle in me. :\

(my two cents to the needle musings.)

In opposition to most people I know's approach to needles, I find it impossible to look away when I'm getting injections. It just makes no sense, I wanna see what's going on.

Needles freak me out a bit, too. I want to be curious, but at the same time, I'm squeamish. I'm not so bad with ones on the upper arm, but anything near the wrist frightens me...

Thanks for all the... vocal lessons. Sort of. But true: when I hear people scream or shout out, it hardly raises above 110 dB. But when I (or some other guy who knows the trick [stupid in most ways, but smart on this issue]) people tend to cover their ears and take a distance

Does anyone know why exactly they call it a roll? I mean obviously it's got the alliteration going on but there's plenty of words that start with R.
