I have to say, these made my day (although getting rick rolled by youtube wasn't cool).

There's another one from google. http://www.google.com/virgle/ is the pertinent link.

Also, Google Time definitely could've been planned out a bit better. I mean, there isn't even a fake "Set Custom Time" thing! If they really wanted to go overboard with this they definitely could have.

Awesome, Virgle! I want to be a Virgle Pioneer.

The comic-switch thing screwed with my head so badly. I have xkcd in my bookmarks/webcomics section, and I do read QC, but I type the name into Google every time instead of having it in my bookmarks.* So when I clicked xkcd in my bookmarks, and got QC, my extremely sleep-deprived brain had to sit there for a minute, wondering if it had just lost a few minutes of time, in which I had gone to Google and searched QC. Thanks for the mind-fsck Randall/Jeph!

In other news, is it sad that when I went to the NASA link and saw the sentence, "In a surprising and potentially troubling request, the new space station robot known as Dextre demanded that astronauts refer to it in the future at "Dextre the Magnificent." I noticed that they had improperly used "at" instead of "as" near the end of the sentence?

*I have no clue why this is. I also Google LFG, LICD, and S*P, despite having a web comic folder with twenty or so other comics that I read.

Hehe okay that was quite funny. Checking QC and xkcd is the first first thing I do in the mornings.. Since today it was before I had any coffee - it took me a while to realize that my brain wasn't playing tricks on me.

Also, today's comic was supposed to be no 404. I thought this was pretty funny when I searched for it:

While on that subject, am I the only one who tried to manipulate the equation given? My first problem was finding out the average life expectancy, but I'm going with the wiki and setting it at 67. So NP = 670 + (Phi)^(1/2) = 671.272, where P is between 0 and 1.

That would actually be an extremely useful feature.

They wouldn't have to actually manipulate time, just the time-stamp.

Seriously. That would be pretty awesome. Dishonest, but awesome.

Terror Island, Exit Music (google "keaner"), and Copper are all webcomics worth checking out.

Regarding the Virgle quiz, here are the number of points for each option. Format is a/b/c/d

1) 10/5/3/0
2) 10/10/10/20
3) 10/5/0/5
4) 10/5/0/5
5) 0/5/10/5
6) 0/5/10/5
7) 0/10/5/5
8) 10/0/5
9) 10/5/5/0
10) 5/10/0
11) 0/5/5/10
12) 10/-5/5
13) 10/0
14) 5/0/5/10

Maybe I should go to bed now...:P A score of greater than 119 gives you the rank "Virgle Expert", a score from 69-119 gives you a rank of "Virgle Intermediate", and a score below that is "Virgle Novice".

That was confusing! I checked out the new Questionable Content via bookmark (I just dragged a NEXT> into my comics folder a long time ago.. I do this with alot of webcomics) and came to xkcd to check for a new comic to find the new comic is.. Questionable Content?!

When I read the Google gmail-custom-time page, and saw this:
Google wrote:Our researchers have concluded that allowing each person more than ten pre-dated emails per year would cause people to lose faith in the accuracy of time, thus rendering the feature useless.

I read the word "feature" as "future," and didn't realize the awesome joke I thought I was laughing at was actually entirely in my head. :?

World of Warcraft and Blizzard usually run good April Fool's joke pages, with announcements like World of Starcraft or a rebranding of Warcraft III to catch out the idiots who only picked up the series with WoW. It's blacklisted from this office's server, so I have no idea on this year's content.

This webcomic url switch reminds me of the print comics switch back in '97. I didn't panic when I saw Questionable Content instead of XKCD. I knew instantly what was going on. I typed in questionablecontent.com and got Dinosaur Comics. I then typed in that url, and got XKCD.

If enough people email them, they probably will. Last year they did the 8-bit tie as a joke but so many people wanted one they ended up making it anyway.

Hell, if they'd wanted to, they could put in a REAL one - it's actually a technically possible feature (Most e-mail clients can sort by arrival date, but by default they sort by - and show - the date in the header).
