xkcd land

Postby anterovipunen » Sat Apr 12, 2008 12:32 am UTC

There are 23000 people on these message boards!! Rise up people. Rise up and form what would be truly a terrifying prospect. The xkcd army!! we'll build robots, i'm thinking a cross between the terminator and the iron giant here. Hundreds of them, then we can set up xkcd land..... i dont think anyone's using the northwest territories. I hear its cold up there so make sure bring a hat! then we can just chill out for a bit and see what the rest of the world does - probably turn green with envy but our giant robots will defend us if they get physical. Shotgun king?!... or similar important position

"edit" okay parkaboy has saved this thread by changing its focus to something much cooler.... an xkcd theme park

Axman: That, and have you played DX 10 games? It's like having your corneas swabbed with clits made out of morphine.

Yes, there is; and he wears a hat!

And here I thought this was going to be about a kick-awesome theme park. Bah.
Hello. I'm Leonard Nimoy. The following tale of alien encounters is true. And by true, I mean false. It's all lies. But they're entertaining lies. And in the end, isn't that the real truth? The answer is: No.

... with chess boards handed out to each rider at the gate.

Obviously there will be a raptor scare house thingy; little stalls where you can win plush toys for correctly solving differential equations and a giant ballpit. The biggest roller coaster should be called the Ballmer Peak (of Doom).

Instead of a go-kart track, electric skateboard racing.

robo raptors that try to get you and laser guns issued to everyone who enters the theme park that when shot at the dinosaurs stop them dead in their tracks and then make them run away   if you get caught by the roboraptors you should be transferred from xkcd land to a lesser theme park like disneyworld

oh yeah: no popcorn because its rubbish!!

Big open space in which to fly kites. Wind machines if necessary.

You know damn well it's a good idea.

Antero edit your first post so it reflects the new topic?

Also, we need:
- Astley impersonators to wander around, similar to the random people in big furry suits in disneyland
- Giant whiteboards for people to write random messages on (a la the big meetup)
- big round indoor rooms in which we can pretend we're floating through the universe. (decorated like this http://xkcd.com/267/)
- A lake similar to the paddleboats you often find in other theme parks. Only, instead of the big swan ones, they're barrels
causa major dormuc vulnero ut ovis goatee
I'm number 20075. Remember that. It's important

I'm going to live the rest of my life in disappointment unless there is miraculously an XKCD themepark at some point.

I vote for an area representing the continuum so that I can get a shirt that reads "I've even been the dog".
