Avatars! (Attn: Tegan)

Postby rachel » Tue Feb 06, 2007 5:30 am UTC

Ummmm, Tegan! I am not sure where this would really go, but I was pretty excited because I just found your avatar on a website.

And, so this is not just a random topic for me to tell Tegan something (and because I like to get everyone interacting (that is a lie) on the boards) I am going to ask all of you to explain yours, please?

Also, everytime I think of/type/write the word 'avatar' I think of that show Avatar: Last Air Bender.

Mine is a toy my boyfriend found washed up on a beach while he was at a funeral. I just like the picture a lot.

A) I deleted the bit in the little letters and can't be bothered editing it back in, but we totally have Avatar over here too and I love it.

B) Is it the website with the photos of graffiti? If so, do you have the URL? I loved the site, saved my favourites and lost the damn URL. My MSN picture is from there too, for anyone that has me on MSN. For those that don't, it looks like this:

Also its some Phil Spektor-produced song. BUT! there's a Spiritualized(R) song called 'she kissed me and it felt like a hit'.

Also: 'quack' is a noise ducks make. So now you know

I forget where I got mine....

Had to edit it in paint so it was shorter (moved the 'what pole?' guy up a square)

edit: wait, i think all this time i haven't got that comic. for some reason i never noticed it was called pillar and he says pole. (in my defense it is still funny if you don't realise that - i thought it was just that he was pretending he didnt see it).

wait, no. in my defence i am dumb :(

Either Hermaj or Tegan, I do not really mind. Depends how well you think you know me? :P

I did not know that about my avatar! Now I feel like an accidental poser, never having heard of the band. I shall download some of their stuff immediately, if not sooner.

EDIT: I can't find any. But, as compensation, I am downloading a song called Even Hitler Had A Girlfriend, by The Mr T Experience. It was the closest match.

That is pretty neat, and a lot of effort just for an avatar.

I made mine in xv by cropping a picture of me running in Colorado, and using the sharpen tool with the knob turned all the way to... eleven...

I like image processing, but I'm way too lazy to do image editing, ya know?

Yeah, but since I have plenty of spare time, i can afford to do that. I can try making cool avatars/sig banners for anyone else if they want them, although tomorrow I have to be doing stuff for my mum's birthday.

It wasn't this site? It has lots of pictures of cool graffiti...

My avatar was made by me... I used it on other forums and when I came here it seemed the sensible thing to do to maintain the consitency. I used to have various other ones that I made too, but then this one came to me in a vision or something. I'll probably get bored of it eventually and make something new. I just like the picture :).

Mine is a still from the first animation short I produced. It was about a crazed toaster trying to fight a much larger and more docile microwave... It didn't have hands which made it a lot easier for me.
