One more go. Something a little better (or should that be worse?).

Inevitable mash-up of 1268 & 1267.

How do you get the fonts of your text to synch up so nicely with what XKCD uses?

This post has links to various xkcd-like fonts. (I usually use operator[]'s.)

Normally I use an xkcd-mimicking font. It's not perfect, so I sometimes retype the rest of the text in that sentence/speech bubble so it isn't right next to the 'real' xkcd text. In my post above I didn't actually add any letters. In the first one the sentences are unchanged, just combined from different strips. In the second, I constructed "eating" by copy&pasting the letters from "ate" and "graphing". Looks right, but not recommended for walls of text!

Hi everyone. I usually hang out on the Time thread, and I realized that part of one of the comic manips of #1267 I made there, with a changed context, could also be used to turn the original comic into something completely unfunny.

So here I ashamedly present the result:
Image

Don't source the small stuff:
Coloured balls from an xkcd manip by user mrob27; turtle from #636; laptop in the corner from #669; laptop on the bed, glass, notepad and various crumpled tissues from #861; velociraptor figurine based on a panel from #1037 ("Umwelt"), as available on explainxkcd; and the miniature trebuchet from #1190, frame M403.

Nothing new to see here:

svenman, rats. My room is worse.
Diadem wrote:How do you get the fonts of your text to synch up so nicely with what XKCD uses?

I usually search for another comic that contains the words I need. Hint: when you google <keyword> site:xkcd.com you often get it. The source of each comic contains all the words in plaintext, so searching this way really works.

Just surprisingly hard when you need either the words "next", "previous" or "random"..

Well, it's a common format for an XKCD, and it's at least slightly worse than XKCD, so I'd say it qualifies. :|

Well so is mine, to be honest, but I didn't think putting in more work on the image to make the room still more cluttered would have been worth the while. :)

Somebody should do today's and replace 4 with ceil(pi). Unfortunately it's not funny enough for me to bother.

I think teelo's "My Hobby" made me think of this.

And my first thought at the effort to avoid using "3" and "4":
