Oh it is, but it was uncomfortably close. I was overtaking a JCB and just as I was passing I noticed a pedestrian was about to cross the road. I didn't even notice her until I had already passed the spot where she was walking. If I had been a few seconds later and she hadn't seen me, it could have been nasty.

TIL this:
Marsupials' reproductive systems differ markedly from those of placental mammals (Placentalia). Females have two lateral vaginas, which lead to separate uteruses, but both open externally through the same orifice. A third canal, the median vagina, is used for birth. This canal can be transitory or permanent.[11] The males generally have a two-pronged penis, which corresponds to the females' two vaginas.[12] The penis is used only for discharging semen into females, and there is instead a urogenital sac used to store waste before expulsion.

Today I learned a hell of a lot about linux. So far, it seems pretty wonderful. You tell the computer what to do, and it does it! Incredible!

I also learned that JB Weld takes an inordinate amount of time to cure, that even if you don't have all the right tools you can still make things work perfectly, and that "measure twice, cut once" really should get stenciled across the top of my workbench.

I relearned how hard it is to quickly add value to a picture with a number 2 pencil.

I also keep learning about how much easier Ubuntu is to use since the last time I tried it. It auto-recognized a scanner on an all-in-one printer! It scanned quickly and easily! 'Tis wonderful.

Today, I learned how list comprehensions work in Haskell. It's very amazing - almost straight mathematical notation.

Code: Select all

gcd a b = if (b == 0) then a else (gcd b (mod a b))
coprimes = [ (x,y) | x<-[2..], y<-[2..x], (gcd x y) == 1]

(And yes, coprimes will have an infinite number of elements.)
