XKCD overload. Go outside for a few minutes.

Postby CVSoul » Wed Jun 18, 2008 8:43 am UTC

My official Top Ten list for ways you know you read XKCD too much:

10. You think raptors not only exist, but are hunting you and you alone.

9. You stereotype anyone in ownership of a black hat to be a criminal.

8. Your "hobby" gets you arrested/injured/killed on a regular basis.

7. You try to apply the comic's literal, not implied lessons to your everyday life.

6. You also attempt to apply the implied lessons to your everyday life.

5. You successfully complete a Geohash. Period.

4. You believe the Internet is a top-secret agency that deploys people in hot air baloons and sends agents with EMP cannons to your house.

3. You have a sexual fantasy about a stick figure with hair.

2. You attempt to make a legitamate acronym out of XKCD as part of a fan fiction.

1. You make the life decision of getting an expensive science degree from college for use as material for your webcomic.

But, this IS going outside.

This one I have considered doing, but it's not really my storyline to create so I don't know if/how it'll work out.

It depends what kind of fanfiction you're trying to do. If you're writing further adventures of Help I'm trapped in a driver's licence factory Elaine Roberts, then you don't need to find a suitable acronym. (Not... not that I think about this in detail, or anything. *shifty eyes*)

I was thinking of either meditating or napping, but the way I do it, there's not much difference except in the explanation to the rest of my family.

I, for one, sincerely wished I had a cat to take a Fourier transform of, at which point I figured I had a bit too much of xkcd for a while. :]

That should help. :)

That's why I don't go outside. Never know when one will eat me. Can't sleep...raptors will eat me.

13. You and your boss/parents/friends are talking about something and all of a sudden it reminds you of an XKCD comic.

True story dealing with the boss. I even showed him the comic. He liked it.

We were talking about cars and loud music, and I described, and later showed to him, this comic. He lol'd.

On a similar note, I showed one of our highway engineers this comic. He also lol'd. This happened months before the bass discussion with my boss.

No, that's the zombies. And if the zombies don't get you, the Daleks will. I wuv Daleks. I want to build one and motorize it under a computer's control in the spirit of "One Laptop Per Hamster".

Me: "import soul"
My creation: "EX-TERRR-MIN-ATE!"
