I love...

Postby justrandomwords » Thu Jan 08, 2009 9:13 pm UTC

My friends and I started making lists of things we love, and all of ours included things like "calculus," "Euler's equation," and "the kind of hug where the boy picks you up and twirls you around." Upon reading my list aloud, my friend squealed "oooh, me too!" after both "kisses" and "partial fractions decomposition." (But, she added, u-substitution is good too.)

So, guys... what are some of the best things off your "I love" list? Some of my other good ones were fireplaces, driving around the city in a standard, a good cup of tea, my computer, the wilderness, fettucine alfredo, the post office, glasses and stripes.

Good beer and Irish whiskey

The Celtics, Red Sox, and Patriots

Improv

The Blues

Naked cuddles on a winter night. Or any hight

Late night coffee with a good friend and a couple of notebooks.

Long walks at 3 AM

Knowing that if I make a reference to a webcomic I read around my friends that chances are one or more people will get it.

Making art
Making love
Making food
Being Outside (preferably not in a major metropolitan area, interesting topography is a plus)
Singing in the Shower
Being in bed with my boy in the morning when the sun is coming in the window and making everything warm.
Being in the presence of friends whilst they make HORRIBLE puns and jokes that probably make them bad people.
Fuzzy animals.
Good wine.
Good perfume.
Campfires.
Politically aware art that doesn't come across as pretentious and douchey.
Lipstick.

Long, hot showers
Listening to the rain in a cozy chair
That warm, content feeling when you wake up and have nothing to do
Sharing horrible jokes with friends
Cooking a meal at a leisurely pace
Installing something meaningful on my computer
Knowing a subject well enough to teach it to someone else

Now I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Hugs for everyone!
Insert witty phrase here.

Having to do something for a long time but being able to listen to music while doing it. It's mostly an excuse to listen to music, because I feel bad if I just sit down and listen to music without doing anything else.

Taking naps, or just lying down, drifting off to sleep is not necessary.

Aw, I kinda like this thread.

I love:

A hot bubble bath after a hard, achey day in the cold.
Being obsessed with a certain song for weeks.
Teasing playful cats.
Fits of the giggles.
Butternut squash soup.
Sex.
Playing video games with my friends.
Getting in a zen state of mind when i'm stop-motion animating and everything is going right and all the models movements are on track. That is an amazing feeling.
i dare you to take me on...

Warm beds
Orgasms of every kind (whether there be shame following or not)
Creation (Ideas, In-Jokes (thats what memes are called IRL right?), Programs, etc)
Cathartic destruction (Arson, Smashing, etc)
Doing something difficult (In this case, things that have been deemed difficult either by me or for me by others)

Boom de yadda. Boom de yadda.

I used to love hugging, and the joys of love itself but that got ruined for me recently (That is, untill next time; when i'm drawn back in. Love, you merciless bitch :P ).

. . .times when people don't talk to me.

I don't mean in the angsty way. Please don't think of it that way. As a society, people just talk too fucking much, life really isn't that interesting. I enjoy to sit alone, listen to music, and entertain myself without voices.

The crunch of dried autumn leaves under my feet.

A Day In The Life by The Beatles.

When I'm playing with my band and you get one of those perfect... not moments, because it lasts longer than a moment, though it seems like one... times, then... when you're all in the zone, feeling the music and it all comes together beautifully with energy, or emotion, or just plain ol' lovely melody. You're all feeding off each other, and it's like the music is playing itself, your body is a ragdoll to the beat, just channelling straight from fingers to fretboard to ear. There's no other sensation like it, and that, right there, is why I play music.

The amazing warm fuzzy feeling after a really nice joint.

A nice sit down and a cup of tea, preferably with a biscuit.

Beartato.
