I have often heard of these Snickerdoodles of yours.

Snicker...doodles? What are these "snickerdoodles" you speak of? Sungura, an explanation? I can only assume they are some amazingly tasty foodstuffs, perhaps of the cake region?

I am most intrigued!

Snickerdoodles are wonderful cookies.

It's kinda like a sugar cookie base, but not. There is cream of tarter used, for example, so it had a bit of a unique flavor. Then you roll them in cinnamon sugar before baking. It gives a crackly "dry earth" look to the surface when you bake it. Yum yum yum yum. Whenever my grandpa visits I make them for him, and he always has at least two with his tea. It's a fun little thing between him and I. If he visits, I have to have snickerdoodles all made :) I remember one visit we went through the whole batch in about two days, mostly he ate them. So I made another batch and I think he ate three fresh out of the oven. :D

Why do I feel more and more like the cookie queen or something? Oooh I should see if Kells has some photos of some decorated sugar cookies I sent her.

Man. I can't help but feel a bit foolish for not thinking of Google first, but damn if that wasn't awesome!

I am knitting an blanket (afghan seems way too fussy for this friend) for her wedding this August, and I'm using two techniques that I've never used before (double-knitting and Fair Isle for anyone interested). So I want to practice, obviously, before deciding to run with the pattern I've decided on and burning through the yarn I've picked out, so that I don't find that it's just not going to work.
Which is where the fora comes in. Instead of knitting up a bunch of gauge swatches with no purpose (and larger ones, ideally somewhere between 8"-16"), I figured that I could offer up the experiment, as it were, to you all. Especially because an xkcd comic would lend itself very nicely to Fair Isle. And would be awesome. So first person to PM with an address & a comic request gets it. One of the square-ish comics would work best, with a minimum of text, although obviously some is okay. I'd also be totally cool with working out the pattern to knit the alt-text onto the other side of the swatch, and potentially finishing it in such a way that it could be used as a pillowcase. Although stuffing it or pillow-finding would be up to you. Envelopes of squishable stuff is a lot cheaper to ship than boxes are.
I'm in NY at the moment, but it'll be knitting and consequently light, so I don't mind where it would get shipped to. This also obviously will take some time to be sent out, as I have to figure out the pattern and such.
Also, potentially, I'd be up for doing another couple, assuming that it worked. And once the gift was finished.

I HAS A BATKEO!!!!!!!! Meowgan you are fabulous, thank you! And I have a teapot cosy in awesome cow spots and delicious Australian yummies! I used to get Milo when I was little! I am very excited about the Milo, and the caramel koala. And all of it. I've more or less polished off the fizzy sweets already...

Pics soon (but maybe not of all the sweets...).

It fits!!!! I may have to move the cow button (cowton?) a touch to the edge but it fits! And looks awesome.

My caramello koala has spilt it's delicious, delicious guts so I am sitting at work nomming on chocolate and licking the caramelly wrapper. Also, I had Milo last night before bed and it made me feel all warm and yummy.

Hello,

I'll join the fun. I live in Losser, Holland.
I can try to send international.

Interests:
-Minerals(Stones, crystals and stuff like that)
-Music
-Surprises(I usually hate them, but receiving a surprise gift is always awesome)
-Papercraft(I can send handmade papercrafts, if not too complex)
-Coins! Any Foreign currency will do(Not Euro, except if you have Finland's 1 and 2 cents.)

Note: I HATE cheese, I really do.

I'll be able to send sheet music and dutch things, for example.

Couple of ideas of stuff I can send:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hopje <-Those are really delicious.
Random dutch candy.
Salted Herring <-Salted, so they won't rot that fast!

I can be very creative.

If you want something, PM me with your address!

I got my package today--It had been languishing at the post office (unbeknownst to me) until I got a 'final notice slip' in the post box. I'd like to know where the initial notice was...

Luthen sent me some fantastic Australiana--I took a photo, but it's not a very good photo:
Spoiler:

You can't see him very well--but to the right there's a frilled lizard that is bendy and hand made and awesome. There are also chocolate macadamia nuts that I've hidden from myself to prevent their complete and immediate consumption.

Moo, I've been meaning to get the package out and I'm getting distracted by work and going back to grad school, and I'm sorry it has not gotten out to you yet. I'm going to work on getting it out by next week hopefully, I hope it goes through.

Does anyone want some chocolate chip cookies or something? Let me know.

I'm willing to send anything that will fit into an envelope. (Not sure about packages.) Not that there's really much you'd want from Thailand that I could legally send you...

But still, if you want something, just ask and I'll see if I can get it to you.

I was in bed, doing what I always do in bed(procrastinate on waking up), when my mom came in and threw a package at me, addressed at me.

I knew it was Moo's, so I opened, it up and took pics.

WARNING: ENORMOUS PICS AHEAD

Spoiler:
http://filesmelt.com/Imagehosting/pics/27df17d3ad3f9f0fa6c7a07bd421d463.JPG

Address censored out, but that's the package.

Spoiler:
http://filesmelt.com/Imagehosting/pics/98bde172419ec9c0250e802fc79dd84a.JPG

The contents.

Pack of (african-style) cards, a cow-pencil, a candle resembling a cauldron and Moo's Koeksisters(Sugary goodness).

The Koeksisters = Amazingly delicious and undoubtly able to make a shy, laid-back kid explode in a rush of hyperactivity. Yumm.

I don't exactly know what the keychain resembles, looks like an anchor/sailboat to me, and looks handmade.
Moo, could you clear this up for me?

And about my present, I have packed it in a cat-food box(Don't worry, there wasn't any catfood in it)

EDIT: I didn't see the card inside xD Just took it out.

Just read the whole thread. Looks like fun. I'll gladly join in.

I live in Malibu, CA so if anyone wants something from here, just ask and I'll see what I can do. Richard Dean Anderson's signature perhaps? (I'm kidding, but I do actually know him. I doubt I could get his signature without it being awkward though, so I'd rather not.)

I'll take pretty much anything (or possibly even nothing). PM me and we'll work it out.
