Random XKCD Comic

Postby sircornet » Wed Oct 18, 2006 2:14 am UTC

Hey, I really enjoy this comic a lot! I'm pretty sure I would waste a whole lot more time here than I already do if there were a random comic generator like on Dinosaur Comics or Thinkin' Lincoln. Is there one already, or am I the first to have this great idea? ...with reference to XKCD, anyway...?

It's not really a random comic "generator," it's more of a random comic selector. If it generated the comics, then they would come out a lot more often than m/w/f or whatever schedule they use. In actual response, I seem to remember something about him not wanting to put random stuff on his page...

heh... reminds me of an interview somebody had for Rhodes. They were asked "So, what is art?"

Try answering that without writing a thesis :P

Hey, xkcd needs not worry. Computer controlled random number generators aren't random.

<threadjack> Best story I heard relating to this is someone doing his Philosophy dissertation on the subject "What is courage?" He merely wrote one word: "This," and passed. </threadjack>

Snopes has a few variants on the clever exam answers story. My favorite: Exam question: "Why?" Top grade: "Why not?"

The eternal pessimist, approached with the exam question "What is Failure?" would write "This."

Whatever the professor says it is. Or, if you're a Dadaist, whatever _you_ say it is. Problems arise when both are Dadaists.

Q: What is Failure.
A: The opposite of "Eruliaf".
Let's hear it for wiseass answers.

Art is anything, as long as you do it well.
