You people and your starting class in August. Seriously, everyone I know has started classes again or is at the very least in the process of moving back to school. And I haven't gone home yet.

But I'm going home tomorrow! I can finally have a summer! Even if most of it takes place in September!

Also, killing Hitler on Saturday. Whee!

My boss wears those to work almost every day. His are black and have no laces, though. I think they're thinner-looking.

I got myself a dream client! The kind that finishes one contract happily and enthusiastically comes back with an idea for a follow-up project. Today, after 5 websites/webapps and thinking I've exhausted their options, I was asked to meet them and... turns out they're referring me to their sister company. Awww yeah.

Things just work out when you wait and do things passionately. This first organization was a nonprofit and they had a tiny budget for their first project, but I took it anyway and still pushed for perfection, and their budget exploded after that project became a success. I started out in shambles about contracts and timetables, but we all stuck to the plan and worked things out.

I feel weird as a web developer/designer. I get paid to do something that I'd probably be doing anyway if I weren't. A world where your portfolio outshines your degree and your passion outshines your experience. Thank you, internet.
In Minecraft, I use the username Rirez.

I'm excited for the ones above because they look more proper shoes (and have laces!) but have the same soles as the KSO Treks (the bottom picture above).

Aaaaaaah, I would kill for five fingers. Apparently running in them is much better once you get used to them.

Awesome thing: Rereading Sandman from the beginning. It's as every bit as good as I remember but on second read-through, not something I would suggest to someone to get them into comics.

This Half-Life 2 mod is really really really awesome and trippy and awesome. (And you don't need to own HL2; you just need a Steam account.)

Should be noted that in addition to downloading this you will have to download the Source SDK, regardless of whether or not you have HL2 installed. Which, you know, is it really worth it for about 30 minutes of gameplay, when you could simply watch a video of it instead?

A thing I liked:
Spoiler:
The ending where you get killed by the wall smashers. There's a meta-narrator narrating about the narrator. She doesn't play any part in any of the other storylines, as far as I know. She was my favourite.

Enjoyed
Spoiler:
the timer ending. Attempted several possible solutions. Licked every button both selectively and in quick succession. Ventured back to the generator after additional time was given. Returned to the lower level to search for clues. Waited for a deus ex machina in the final moments. Knows the end result.

The six endings, for posterity/thoroughness:
Spoiler:
1 - Walking through the left door, disabling generator
2 - Left door, enabling generator
3 - Left door, going down the stairs instead of up
4 - Right door, up elevator
5 - Right door, down elevator, Red door
6 - Right door, down elevator, Blue door(s)

I think that ending was my favorite, although the Blue Door ending with the HL2 opening was also brilliant. :)

Oh, I'd totally missed that last one.

Spoiler:
I went through the blue door twice then for whatever reason didn't think to keep doing so. I thought it was just going to force me to go through the red one. I think the blue door ending might be my favorite

I have power back, a lot sooner than expected. No internet yet (the cable is about at eye level in my yard) but the neighborhood has it so we'll get it back eventually.

So, I'm sitting in the local library, with laptop and wifi. And TMBG "Here Comes Science" on repeat.
