How are you sending it so it gets to the recipient before Xmas?

My dad told me he'd handle it, so I have no clue how long it'll take.

Atleast it'll be before newyears, I think.

Thanks kk, whoever you are.
I'll save you the investigation, it was me. Glad it got there and glad you like it.

Thanks Senefen! I was really excited to get home from my trip to find your package.

UPDATE!

I'm in the process of PMing everyone whose gift hasn't been received by now, to make sure that everyone has either sent or is still planning to send their gift. I've heard from a few people who've had difficulties, so if you've already let me know what's going on, you're on my 'Nice' list (which is a reassuring list for those who haven't got their gifts yet - you'll get one, one way or another). HOWEVER, if you haven't previously PMed me, haven't sent your gift, and my PM doesn't leave my outbox in three days time, I'll be passing your santee on to the Super Secret Santa detail. Can't have anyone missing out!

After ensuring that it wasn't bait planted by the police, I finally got around to opening my gift today:

Inside the wrapping paper, we find...
Spoiler:
Image
even more wrapping paper! And an envelope!

And there's a secret message from my secret santa!
Image
(Written on the tape in the middle of the picture; hard to spot in a reasonably sized picture)

Let's look into the envelope first:
Spoiler:
A card! (Why am I shouting?!)
Image

Image
Secret Santa Revealed: It was Teapot!

Image
And she wrote a nice letter, too. Thank you.

Back to the package:
Spoiler:
Image
A box sealed with duct tape. I guess that rules out both raptors and bobcats.

ImageBehold! A multitude of nifty things, afloat in a sea of packing peanuts.
But wait! There's more: A rectangular shape lurks just below the surface...
Image
Now what could that be?
Image
Wow. My inner space-nut sends his thanks. Luckily, I already own a T-Rex Hoodie and T-shirt, so I'm all set for stomping.

The full list:
Spoiler:
Image

- A card and a clourful letter full of nice words.
- A can of tea that smells delicious.
- A teapot with cosy.
- Dark chocolate; Fair Trade, just as the tea, which makes it even better.
- A robot-shaped USB stick.
- Rocket set.

Thank you, Teapot, these are all great presents.

The little robot is already at work, letting me listen to my music without changing CDs/records:
Spoiler:
Image
(Its eyes glow blue, when it's plugged in, but the flash hid them.)

Further flight tests, however, may have to be moved outside...
Spoiler:
Image

Spoiler:
This secret santa gift was brought to you by Teapot and the letter S.

OP has been updated with the list of giftees and their gifters. Please post your gifter if you haven't already; if your package was anonymous, please post who you were Santa for! Currently the only people who I think I don't have the Santa for is Cyberia (gifted by Richard?) and Lizabeff (believe this person was going to wait to open their present on the 25th). So please post those forum handles! Santees: please please let me or __jess know if you haven't received your package, and PLEASE post in this thread if you have received it! Santas: if you haven't seen your person post your gift yet and you never posted shipping proof, please do that now!!!

On another note: Was the exchange a success? Would everyone be up for doing it again next year?

Hope everyone had very merry holidays!
milk from space is good for you!

Overall, I'd say it seemed to be a success - a quick look shows that the deadbeat percentage is pretty low - within Super Secret Santa coverage, I think. And it was totally awesome - a repeat seems a good idea.

On a related note, any idea when the SSS's will be notified if their services are needed?

If you look up a few posts, you'll see that __jess said she'd be notifying SSS's 3 days from then, so tomorrow.

Yup, I'd say it was a lot of fun. I know I'll be covered at some point. Although I kinda feel bad asking a SSS for something when I said I'd be one myself. :/ I just have the worst luck with these things! (Never once have I gotten my gift, at least this time though there is a mechanism in place for that, which I have never had before).

Just as an update; according to DealExtreme both shipments of the gift have shipped. They are either bouncing around the UK or on a ship somewhere, but either way I'm eagerly anticipating their arrival. For me, the anticipation and watching people get their gifts has actually been the most worthwhile part of this, which is odd because I'm normally more selfish-ish.

You don't have the worst luck, your present will arrive. It's not even a week after Christmas yet, these things happen. I'm only contacting back-up people if Secret Santas fail to respond to my PMs. Which is not the case for you. Please be patient.

Edit: As of now, there are only three two people who are unaccounted for. I think we're doing fairly well.

Spoiler:

Also, I think Richard may be silent man as he is from Germany.

Also also, I would definitely be up for doing this again.

Definitely be up for doing it again, I loved checking the thread to see what everyone else got. And __jess — you were impressively on top of things, I've done these exchanges before on other forums and this was definitely run the best.
And it seems like everyone who participated was on top of things, too, so that was really nice.

Jup, that was me.

Also, to dispel possible concerns about the origin of the shark's tooth: It's a fossil, found in southern Germany, so it was already dead for several million years before the first monkey got the idea of decorating itself.
Unfortunately, I forgot to idedntify it before mailing it, but if you're interested, maybe this site will help.

Edit: I agree that it was a lot of fun and, other duties permitting, I'd definitely participate again next year.

Finally made it back onto campus and got my gift. Thank you Scrovak! The shirt is awesome, and I will definitely enjoy the delicious candy and watching Evil Dead (yay Bruce Campbell!). (Pictures will come later).

I'd definitely be up for doing this next year. It was a lot of fun getting a gift for someone else/receiving a gift, and seeing what everyone got was awesome.

I think my package arrived in two parts, one part before xmas, one after. However, I don't know who my santa is, the only name I can find on the package is Grant, and it came from Hong Kong..? Can my Santa let me know who they are so I know who to direct my thanks too? Cheers :)

Much belated pictures of my package and its awesome contents from Rin. The chocolate was amazing, I actually managed to stretch it out over a better part of a week (or three nights, same thing, right?), the earrings are perfect (dangly but wooden and so super-light), the Buddha Board is awesome, as is everything else. Thanks a million!

There was also a very nice letter. It explained that the button was referring to her college's newpaper (see here) and that the hat was referring to a hat.

Anyone who hasn't received a gift yet, could you PM me? I'm sorry I've been away from the computer a bit, but it's not too late for everyone to get a gift. I'm pretty determined to make sure that everyone who sent a gift also gets one.

I was having a horrid day as well (discovered someone raided my art locker and stole my textbooks, library ignored midterm hours and closed early, missed the last bus and had to walk home in the rain, had to fend off a mugger by breaking his nose...) but seeing that everything made it there fine makes me smile. Hurray for spreading happiness!
...It made more sense in my head.

I have pictures of the receiving/opening, but I'll have to find them again.

Excellent :) How is/was the tea itself? I kind of guessed on that part . . . I hope it's ok?

Also, fyrenwater: ...had to fend off a mugger by breaking his nose... wait, what?

Well, it was obviously the mugger's big glowing weak point and he couldn't be taken down by other means.

Life is secretly a videogame, right?
There's a method to my madness. Somewhere. Don't worry, I'll find it!

Wild DRUNKEN MUGGER appeared!
DRUNKEN MUGGER used PENCIL ATTACK.
DRUNKEN MUGGER missed!
FYRENWATER used ELBOW STRIKE.
It's super effective!
DRUNKEN MUGGER fainted!
...It made more sense in my head.

Got my gift!
No pics, but its a book titled "Electronic Gadgets for the Evil Genius", with step-by-step DIY projects for stuff like Tesla coils, handheld lasers, and an EMP gun. An EMP Gun. What's more awesome than that!? Oh right, a plasma lightsaber.
Thanks to whoever sent this to me!

I'm um, going to have to make a big apology here.

Spoiler:
I have depression. I spent the last two months of last year being terrified of going outside. I had this overwhelming feeling of being a failure and I refused to be productive, fearing I'd prove my failingness. I haven't said anything because I was (and still am) so ashamed of how bad I felt.

There. I said it.
I'm sorry Mat, I'm sorry everyone else.
<L> dude. she made a motherfucking stargate.
<L> you need to keep this girl. do whatever it takes.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope you're feeling better now?

And please don't be ashamed of these feelings. I'm sure almost all forumites have been in a similar state of mind at some point and nobody will think less of you for admitting to them. Besides, locking yourself in with these thoughts is just about the worst thing you can do.
Again, I hope you'll be alright soon. *offers awkward e-hug*
