It's immensely counterproductive to spreading conservative views. Who would want to take it down? Conservative politicians? Do they even know what a DDoS attack is?

Sure they do. It's what Al Queda and Anonymous do when they're not too busy with destroying Freedom or harassing 11 year old girls. Or pirating movies and music. Because when you pirate movies and music, you harass 11 year old Freedom with Islam Girls.

...wait, I think I got something mixed up there...

Conservapedia's Block Log is even more amusing than the actual sight, if such a thing be possible.

"18:23, 3 February 2011 DouglasA (Talk | contribs) blocked JayzusFromReturning"
Someone was planning to be blocked, methinks.

Their reasons for blocking are awesome as well:
"Some liberals are way more pathetic than others."

"Bigotry" - umm, what? On Conservapedia?

"Liberal Trolling: You just got spanked. Bye."

"You need to have a valid reason to remove your dunce cap in the future"

"Liberal Trolling: stealing material from wikipedia" - this is one of my favourites.

And, can anyone explain this one?: "PaulBurnett (Talk | contribs) unblocked PaulBurnett (Talk | contribs) ‎ (I won't make any more personal remarks - I'm sorry)"

I can't access the site for weeks now. I guess my whole country is blocked.
Not that surprising actually, I can't imagine many genuine editors on that site come from the netherlands...

Probably an argument between admins that went too far - in a standard MediaWiki install, a blocked admin can still use the block & unblock functions, including to unblock themself. (Otherwise a rouge rogue admin could cause all kinds of chaos.)

Interesting. They have an article on the Treaty of Tripoli, that, oddly enough, contains nothing but the text of the Treaty of Tripoli.

Being as I am one of the few American members of the Religious Far Left, I enjoy a dose of Conservapedia now and then. It helps build up my resistance to people who are wrong on the Internet.

Fun fact: Conservapedia is actually opposed to SOPA. Of course, they claim SOPA is written for liberals and being pushed through by Dems, but still. They also seem to be against Wikipedia's blackout protesting SOPA, but then that shouldn't be surprising.

Actually, I recommend reading through the entire "In the News" section on their homepage - it's absolutely hilarious.
Spoiler:
"Wikipedia editors question site's blackout." Why doesn't Wikipedia instead expose the big liberal money being poured into the Democrat Party to pass the bad bill?
SOPA is for the benefit of liberals (Hollywood and the music industry) and is being pushed by liberals through the Democratic U.S. Senate for Obama to sign. But the Left always shifts blame to others.
When Wikipedia's liberal heroes Hollywood, Harry Reid and Barack Obama support controlling the internet with SOPA, does Wikipedia criticize them? No, instead Wikipedia punishes internet users by darkening its pages.
Undisclosed favoritism reigns at Wikipedia: punish the public, and favor the Democrats who harm the public.
Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day. A day to celebrate the peaceful life of a man committed to Jesus. Also, it's a day for liberals to play the race card.
The moderate Jon Huntsman quits the race and will endorse fellow moderate Mitt Romney. Where are any conservative endorsements for Romney?
Atheism continues to destroy Europe: "9 eurozone nations downgraded by S&P."

All I can say is, I think it's adorable when people blame economic problems on irreligion. Because Jesus totally said it was easy for rich people to get into Heaven.

Its alot easier for rich people because they can buy all the indulgences they need, so they get rich by questionable means and then buy indulgences to be forgiven for said questionable means.

Wikipedia wrote:"The eye of a needle" is part of a saying of Jesus recorded in the synoptic gospels:

“I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:23-24

Parallel versions appear in Mark 10:24-25, and Luke 18:24-25.

The saying was a response to a young rich man who had asked Jesus what he needed to do in order to inherit eternal life. Jesus replied that he should keep the commandments, to which the man stated he had done. Jesus responded, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." The young man became sad and was unwilling to do this. Jesus then spoke this response, leaving his disciples astonished.

I'd like to think so, with a name like "Christian Nymphos"...but then again, Poe's Law.

My one minute research suggests no, it's legit.

So call it a 50/50 chance.

Is this one satire? I can't tell.

I'm not actually sure what you think would be satire, here. They seem to be humoring the "God reconstructing the hymen" idea while hiding their giggles.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the site is legit.

Sweden is surely a noteworthy country... for its growing problems with bestiality? Bestiality and Sweden, and also Sexual immorality and Sweden. (The møøse are involved, I guess)

EDIT: There's also a separate article concerning Christopher Hitchens' views on bestiality. (Supposedly because the main article is more concerned whether late Hitchens' atheism incluenced his cancer or not.)

EDIT2: I'm wondering if a mention of the møøse could pass the filter? "Moose are currently found in large numbers in Sweden"? "See Also: Moose"?

Bump

Usual tripe, but

In regards to homosexual couples and domestic violence, studies indicate that as a whole homosexual couples have higher rates of promiscuity than heterosexual couples.

What does that even mean?

on a guess that an individual in a homosexual relationship is more likely to commit adultery (cheat on their sig other).

But I don't think adultery is possible by definition if they're not married, so the editors used the word promiscuity instead since "couples" are the norm. Of course, one could argue that with marriage vows comes an increase in fidelity. Following the source takes me to here...

Image

DAMN.

In The Male Couple, authors David P. McWhirter and Andrew M. Mattison reported that, in a study of 156 males in homosexual relationships lasting from one to thirty-seven years:
Only seven couples have a totally exclusive sexual relationship, and these men all have been together for less than five years. Stated another way, all couples with a relationship lasting more than five years have incorporated some provision for outside sexual activity in their relationships.

As for how cheating on your SO can be classified as domestic violence is another matter...

Also given the above I don't even think cheating is the proper vocabulary for the matter. If it's done consensually and openly I guess promiscuity is the best word choice, and under such circumstances I can't fathom to label it violence or abuse.
The time and seasons go on, but all the rhymes and reasons are wrong
I know I'll discover after its all said and done I should've been a nun.
