Sun Worship/Appreciation Club looking for a acronym

Postby DocOpt » Fri Apr 09, 2010 4:16 pm UTC

Since you all seem like a creative bunch of fellows I figure I'll see if you guys have any ideas.

Some of us are looking to make a lesiurely club on campus that will focus on appreciateing the sun, mainly just a fun club to get together outside and do something, reason to make sweet shirts.

We are looking for a clever name for our club, mainly a acronym of Sol, Solar, Star... you get the idea. We have a few, sadly I dont have them with me. I can only remember one Sun Optimism League.

So if any of you have some ideas post them here and we'll appreciate it.

I'm reminded of the goddess Helia from the Majesty series... But I doubt many people would get the reference.

Sun... I am disappoint.

SolAR!
Sol Appreciation Ring...

I looked for synonyms of "club" and at first thought I was stupid for not knowing one that started with R. The fact that all the thesauruses only gave "ring" made me feel better.

Wow some awesome ideas there Sunny outdoor lovers particularly gets me.

We really don't care how "hippy" it is the club/organization, just looking for a good clever name. This may help a bit if some of you are still interested, we are at Iowa State University in Ames.

Students Organiz(ing|ed) Light-Augmented Recreation, is also really good though organized isn't the isn't the word we are looking for, Students of Light-Augmented Recreation, is more what we want.

Thanks for all the ideas.

Except it's not a false idol is it. Unlike some other objects of worship I could mention, the sun actually exists. :P

Sun's United Nation? See, it's a recursive acronym. Those are still cool, right?
