A fucking awesome Neil Young cover. Also, a pretty intense Beatles cover.

As well, the girl who sings it is incredibly hot*.

*and, er, has a great personality.

I couldn't stand that her words had no beginning or end; all you could hear of the words was the middle.

Also, wassup with the new interface, with the thumbs up/down stuff and all? Did this come up in another thread? If not, comment here! :x :!:

I know! Is it possible that someday we may see crappy youtube commenters moderated out by their more intelligent peers?

I've gotten so used to just ignoring random comments on random pages that I didn't even understand what RG was talking about.

Thing is, the same people making the comments are giving the thumbs.

No, that is wrong, because there are also videos of people doing it with bottles of water [of the commercially-packaged type].

What happens is the liquid is supercooled, and there is nothing to agitate it into crystallization.

By tapping the bottle, the molecules get jostled about, and all of a sudden are like "whoa, shit! It's cold in here! Let's get solid, man!"

Same as how if you microwave a glass of water for long enough, it will refrain from boiling, but as soon as you put something coarse (like salt) in it, it will vapourize very quickly. I believe this must be done with the water in a crystal container, which has very few imperfections; regular glasses are coarse enough to stimulate boiling.

/not a chemist, so take this post with a grain of salt.

Are you serious? Why is that sort of crap allowed on television?

I concur with your reaction.

I thought, actually, she was going to say:

I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because Osama... uh, some people...

Here's my theory on how it was done:

The one he had in his hands was oversized to make you think that one needs a device that large to create such a laser, when really, only a small piece of it (like the size of a AA or AAA battery) is the laser-generating part.

However, there must be a solid rod sticking out of this handheld thing. This is how he gets the ring to suspend from it.

So how, then, does he get the ring to pass through it? He doesn't. Notice the strange angle at which he passes the ring through? And how he does it so quickly? It's because he's rotating the ring around the rod, but by flicking it, and with the light beam being interrupted by it and thus creating a distraction, the viewer doesn't notice.

The next light setup has a string going across the top. Because of this, he would have been unable to hang the ring on it, which is why he discarded the ring. When he passed his fingers "through" the horizontal beam of light, stuck his fingers down, so that the string was between two of his fingers at any given time.

When the shirt on the hanger fell down, he merely cut the string with his left hand.

The rest could mostly be explained with mirrors and with handheld (like AAA cell sized) lasers, likely two with magnetic bases that stick them against each other.

Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying I could pull it off myself--this guy is very skilled at what he does. It's just that there's always a trick. This is my theory at one way to do it.
