I must admit to being vaguely jealous that you can pull off attractively messy hair - mine either has choirboy levels of forced neatness if I do something with it, or tramp-like levels of disreputableness if I don't.

Very nice. Very come-hither, which I assume was the intent.

That's a great photo, very nice composition and depth of field (also: mega hawt!).

Did you close your eyes for a while before the shot to get your pupils that wide, or was it just quite dark apart from the flash? I'm interested because I've never really thought about pupil size in portraiture before, but I probably should have done, given that it's such a major emotional cue.

To tell the truth i hate having it like that, i always think i look like a hobo (which makes it hard to make trips to the parts store and back) but i know what you mean about the choirboy thing. fresh out of the shower, comb the hair down, annnnnd goody two shoes.

Thank you! I'll try to post more under spoiler tags! (Nothing new. But still lady in sexy clothes looking alluring...)

I usually close my eyes for a bit in photo shoots. I get a much better picture if I pop them open right as the flash goes off so that I don't squint or blink. Also I usually wear glasses and spent most of the shoot unable to see a thing. I have heard that the effect is appealing to men or some shit.

Pupil dilation is an autonomic response to either "visual interest" or arousal (both sexual arousal and more general physiological arousal - fear, excitement etc.). Given this, it's not really surprising that it's seen as attractive in a "sexy" context.

One of my tutors* at university had entirely black irises, so her pupils looked maximally dilated all the time, the effect on a 19 year old male was, well, distracting.**

*Tutorials are a UK thing, where grad students etc. teach students in much smaller groups than a lecture.

**I feel compelled at this point to clarify that I don't mean anything massively inappropriate here. I was rather shy at university, and didn't normally make much eye contact, except in these tutorials, where there was more than a usual amount of eye contact. Still not great from a sexual objectification standpoint, but I was young and stupid back then. Now I realise that having most of the male members of your tutorials staring at you dreamily all day is creepy and probably got bloody annoying.

(What the heck, guess I'll just post this here, too. Not very queer-specific anyway.)

I have a picture of myself that I don't hate, even though the lighting is really awful and I totally should be banned from using a webcam! [Picture removed for privacy reasons] Mostly liking it because it's probably the first picture of me where I'm actually smiling. Wish hair were longer, less androgynous and yadda yadda, but that's gonna take time - being able to take a (terrible-quality) picture is a good first step. ^_^
