Mine is the japanese word for "Pain". It's from an anime forum I used to visit. (Would've been "Nikushimi", but that was taken. Jerk.)

Mine is a suggestion from a friend when I was making a runescape account.

Man, what lame stories.

My last name is Lu, and in sixth grade, one of my friends decided that "Lucifer" would be a cool nickname for me. Of course, he didn't know that Lucifer was the devil at the time (or so he tells me), so I began taking on the nick and using it on the internets.

But, as it turned out, "Lucifer" was a pretty common username, so I added a "6" after the Lu.

In ninth grade some kids were pestering me about being an Atheist, so I decided I would start a religion. I called myself DeeJus, since I go by DJ, and got a bunch of people to be followers around me. We would chant around the bigots to creep them out. After it died down and we all had our fun, the name stuck and I've gone by it ever since. Also, it's not a common name on the internets and it is rather catchy, so people can recognize me. :D

I think I might have stolen mine from a fanfic author in sixth grade. Maybe?

Anyway, it's the name I've always used online. It used to be because I liked anime, and acted like Hermione.

Now that I'm not that interested in anime and act nothing like Hermione, I wish I had chosen something awesome, like BurningTyger (as a William Blake Reference). But I use this everywhere, so that people I recommend places to can find me.
I wanted to see the universe, so I stole a Time Lord and ran away. And you were the only one mad enough.

Mine's just a portmanteau of L33t and Lightsaber. I'd gotten into Megatokyo around the same time that I was rediscovering Star Wars several years back. The name hit me and stuck.

I used to refer to myself as TripleFault, being an assembly-language geek and having fiddled with writing an OS at the time I was coming up with my first nick. Then I saw a file of "funny .sig's", and spotted this gem:

29A: Hexadecimal of the Beast.

The rest is painfully obvious. Lo, I am Lucifer come among thee (etc).

My username. Well it is sort of a inside (to maybe myself only) since it is a pun for an old MySpace display name "kill.destiny." (don't remember how I got that one) and pun on a band called Hope Dies Last (after all this time I still haven't heard any of their songs). I really wanted to use my favorite song Mr. Brightside like I usually do for other sites but it was taken already.

I picked the name because it is an element, and the name of a Nirvana song. I thought it had a cool ring to it. The pharmaceutical use for it only was thought about after I picked it, and amuses me a bit that way. My other nick I use is AceOfDiamonds because I have a weird attachment to the playing card, sorta like the Joker, but not as insane.

it's my name :) (It's like Matthew in English)

But in games, I usually use "gudby" or "gudby-blsk"
Orginally, I invented "gudby-blsk" when trying to come up with a username for some game while listening "the wall"...I couldn't think of anyhting until the song "goodbye bluesky" starteed and for some reason I typed "gudby-blsk" like some abbreviation of the song's name. I decided to keep the name, but as a meaningless name, the song was just inspiration, that's why eventually, I decided to shorten it to just "gudby", which ISN'T "goodbye", it's just Gudby, a meaningless name...but for forums and stuff like this I prefer to use my first name.

Well, I got this username when I signed up for my first MMORPG ( Runescape).
Chris is my name, Dude because I couldent have Chris as my username and 70 was a random number I chose because Chris Dude was taken.
Now I use the name everywhere because it's soo easy to remember.
If you do a google search for any variation of Chris Dude70 there is a good chance its me in the results.

#Lounge was a "secret" operator only channel on an IRC server I used to frequent.

#Generic was a channel my friends and I created to hang out in. We put in our topic we were the "Official Channel of x server." as a joke. (I believe originally it was something along the lines of being a generic-brand type channel of the official server.
Whenever a newbie would come to our channel we'd friendly direct them to the proper channel, and explain to them the joke. We'd usually end up being able to answer their questions anyway.

Opers ended up getting angry with us, telling us to remove the phrase from our topic, or they'd start banning people, forbidding the channel, etc.

So one of my friends discovers #Lounge. Our topic becomes #Lounge - The official channel of x. Newbies end up flooding the safe haven channel of the operators. We get into a few more scuffles, end up directing newbies and people that would flood us to join that channel, and lots of bitterness in sues.

Couple of bans later it's become one of my staple nicknames.

That and I like the play on words when I get greated with "Welcome, Lounge." As is the case on many websites that require you to have a username to log in/view.

Mine is old...... from way before this forum came into my life (see # of posts). It started out as Component, cause I needed to put something in my DS with my friends. Me and my friends were later all knighted in the gaming world, and was obliged to add "Sir," making it become Sir Component. Unfortunately, this would not fit into my DS. I then shortened it to Sir Cmpwnt, and noticed the "pwn" in the middle. Eventually, it became "Sir Cmpwn." Unfortunately, this does not reflect in my username, which is just cmpwn. I am obliged, however, to indicate my status somewhere in my identity, which is where my signature comes in.
As a side note, you can tell from my signature that "Sir Cmpwn" was taken on Xbox LIVE before I got there. Just out of curiosity, WTF?

Mine's a typo. But not from an attempt to write icarus, and not made by me.

One of Gandalf the Grey's pseudonyms is Incanus, and the cheap copy of lord of the rings I had when I was 15 has a typo. By the time I found out, I'd already used it all over the place, so I've stuck with it for the last decade and a bit.
