My newest one is as close to simplicity as I could get it. It's black, almost completely blank, and very empty. The lettering comes from an old .png I drew up in MS paint, several years ago now.

Mine is a sketch by Brian Froud from the inside cover of a book of his that a friend owns. People kept saying yt resembled my general demeanour if not my actual appearance. Certainly has my smile and eyes, but my demeanour is more staring at things intently than the sort of jokerishness portrayed here. Might change it someday, but until then it makes a pretty great stock avatar if I don't have anything specific.

Er... *checks* Runes of Elfland. that one is on the paper inside of the hardcover, though there are a bunch of other great drawings in there, too, and some interesting retellings of a whole bunch of world myths

I figure my avatar is pretty self explanitory. It has a story tho: Long time ago I was looking around for a unique handle for stuff that I wouldn't find already in use everywhere I went. To find it I was browsing some random image recepticle site and came across this image not reversed and liked the lighting. Only problem was Enter just seemed like a terrible nick. It took my brain about half a second to respond with "Enter might be a shite handle but Retne isn't." Thus the name I've used for who knows how long was born.

People can't be OCD. They can sometimes be pedantic, though.

... Unless it was Halloween and they had a really abstract costume.

I could have said "A psycotic girl with a major case of OCD." but I think I will let the English majors and grammar nazis fret over that fact instead.

I may not be an expert, but I think it 's an attribute rather than a physical manifestation. For instance, a mail man. People can't (aren't usually?) mail, but they can deliver mail?

It's one of the first pictures I took over this particular cat after she started to get comfortable with me. The only decent picture of one of my cats I have.

The vocalist for the band "Portal". I thought the clock-hat and suit was perhaps the best live music outfit I'd ever seen, so I cropped a publicity shot.

I'm not really sure where I was going with mine. I wanted a picture of myself with a retro ring to it, while still wearing my signature hat and mustache. so, I took the picture and added color bars!

That's all.

Mine is a mudkip. I gave it a top hat just because I thought it would look good with a top hat. People in another thread told me to give it a monocle too, so I did.

my names henry, and the avatar was intentionally mispelled to show how immature I am. it was photoshopped by Hans (jelloking357). he says that my character in his cartoon would be "the brains, but so immature and insane that he also tries to kill everyone, regardless of what side they're on, commonly thought to be the explosives expert by outsiders, confuses everyone by using linux, taps everyones phones, owns a self-driving van (only failed 3 times thus far!), and facepalms way too much".

That descriptions pretty much completely accurate. except the van. and the wiretapping.

Breaking the trend of my last three avatars (which were all picture of me), I went for The Little Prince, as I love that book and it never fails to cheer me up.

I changed mine to the anti gay-joke bear from Boxer Hockey. It appears because the characters use gay to mean lame which is offensive, in this instance it appears just as one character was about to call another gay for paying for dinner for everyone. It's done somewhat tongue-in-cheek.
