Survey: How many of these characters do you recognize?

Postby Mengineer » Fri May 13, 2011 7:49 am UTC

(This, by the way, is not my first post. I have lost my the details of my previous account and the computer I used to create it.)

Can you recognize these characters from their faces alone?

I'm aware that their names are in the URLs. That is not what I asked about.

To make it easier for me, list the numbers of the images, not the names of the characters.

Oh, and the country you're from, if you wish to disclose that information.

Hmm...upon reading the rules, I realized that this violates a few of them. I have no way to prove the existence of my other account, so...

So, even though we can see the name in the URL before the image loads, we have to tell you if we recognise the characters?

The fourth link is also broken... it looks like you've copied the URL into the previous one, rather than replacing it...

Code: Select all

Ok. Well.

UK, and I recognise images 1, 2, 3, & 4

(well, really, their filenames as I didn't wait for the image to fully load)

Oh. Maybe I shouldn't have overexplained it.

Basically, what I meant was "Can you recognize these characters from their faces alone?"

The correct link for #4 is this.
I recognize all of them.
For #1 and #2 I also know the actors' names.
U.S.A.

I can't imagine anyone who's tech savy enough to post on an internet forum to not have been exposed to that show. But I guess we'll find out!

BTW, do you remember the name of your other account?

There's a bit of a problem in that one I read their names I can't help but recognise their faces.

It's all or nothing, I'm not sure how you'd really expect it to be anything else. Either you've watched the show and you know them, or you have even a iota of pop culture exposure, or, you don't.

US - recognise all of them.

And yeah... it seems likely the only real outcomes here are 1) recognise none, 2) recognise 1 and 2 but not 3 and 4, or 3) recognise all.

(Option 2 being 'okay, I didn't really watch that, but it's shown up on pictures or commercials or previews or whatever, and those two are chock full o' random screen time.')

USA. I knew 1 & 2. 3 I recognized as "the doctor" from watching the 2009 Star Trek movie, although I couldn't put my finger on his name. I wouldn't have recognized him if I hadn't seen his uniform, so going by face alone I would have had nothing. Or maybe I still would have surmised he's a Star Trek character based upon the previous two. 4 I may or may not have recognized by face alone, but with the uniform visible I knew the character's name.

Don't get the point at all, but... USA, character names, faces, and actors' names for all 4. I am also wondering if 3 is
Spoiler:

USA, only recognized 2 on sight. Because... it's No. 2.
I did recognize the names of 1 and 3, and I couldn't access 4.

EDIT: Hey, I recognize 4 now!

I would definitely recognize #2 and most likely recognize #4 by face alone. #1 and #3 probably not, though I had already recognized all of them by their file names before they had loaded.

I know #1, 2, and 4. I recognize #3's face, but couldn't recall the name at first.

I'm from the US, I'm in my teens but wasn't a Star Trek viewer growing up. I've seen the latest big movie Star Trek, the Wrath of Khan, and one of the first original series episodes on Youtube when I was bored. And I've watched the Captain Jean Picard music video a thousand times. It's catchy. I've read some wikipedia articles. And I saw a lecture by the guy who invented Klingon! He was awesome.
I'm not a Trekkie, but I'm not clueless.
