I dreamed last night that my whole family had died and I had to deal with the wills, selling off property, shouldering debt, finding myself with no money whatsoever, etc. I was in the middle of picking up a piece of paper from the floor informing me of something awful when "HEY, LISTEN! HEY, LISTEN! HEY, LISTEN! HEY, LISTEN!" (my sometime-bedmate's alarm tone, he says it's the only thing that wakes him up anymore) yanked me out of the dream.

Thank FSM/Navi.

I had a dream in which I died- or at least I think so. I was in the car with my father, and we both got bulldozed off the road. I could see the girl driving the car- she was kind of slumped over, with long blonde hair and black eyeshadow, with a black dress. The scary thing was how she was kind of dead-looking, like a zombie.

OOoooo, I hate those types of dreams. I dream of people who are very clearly post-living a great deal, and it always bothers me the next day.

Yeah, it was kind of scary in a way I can't articulate very well, like one I had once.
I was at a gig. Like nothing you'd ever seen, with awesome music that somehow I can't remember. I took some kind of stimulant in a really disgusting way, and I met a girl with pink hair, who kept mocking me and saying horrible things. I kept arguing with her. Slowly, it became apparent to me that nobody else could see her. I kept pleading for her to go away, and she kept laughing at me. It ended up with me kicking the hell out of her, and her just laughing away. I woke up sweating.

All I remember is I was talking to someone for a long time, then I realized that he was Morgan Freeman... Suddenly Morgan Freeman started using a bunch of ghetto Ebonics type slang and I think I ran away.

So, fucked up dream last night.

Some highlights - 3 people were murdered and someone attempted to kill me twice.
- I was the master of fire, for some reason. I got to be the master of fire after the original master of fire screwed up so badly that everyone voted for me to have the position again. really I should have gotten it in the first election...
- The person who killed 3 people, buried them in the lake (yes...) gets off with a warning, because I was loud.

weird dreams.

Apple started selling breast implants, but instead of silicone they were made out of iPods. Also, they turned your nipples into headphone jacks.

... Weird dream, or best idea ever. Haven't decided yet.

I dreamt about travelling to see my family on the other side of the world, including one of my cousins. Today I wake up and realise that it's been a year since my uncle (that particular cousin's father) died.

I had an extremely long narrative type of dream which began with the nuclear destruction of mankind and my fleeting attempt to survive it. (There was an epic plot to this part, but my memory has decayed to such a point I don't remember it). I almost didn't until I stumbled upon a vault (I've been playing too much Fallout). I somehow got in with three of my best friends (people I have never met in real life, weirdly enough), and we hunkered down for the next week and a half or so right inside the entrance to this vault, since the people living there wouldn't let us in any farther. Eventually, the sensors outside showed minimal radiation, so we left and lived in the ruins of a church fighting and foraging for survival as well as debating all sorts of philosophical issues (the meaning of life, the future of mankind, the politics of what caused this war, etc.) Eventually, a second wave of warheads hit and the last seconds of the dream was me in the fetal position looking at the blast right before the heat wave overtook myself and my companions. Simply one of the most epic dreams I've ever had.

My subconscious is weird.

For a few days last week, I had a series of dreams where I somehow stumbled upon a government biological weapons testing site (someone said so in the dream I think) in the middle of the city :? . Cue long and complicated plot involving mushroom clouds :? . Also, I have to say, my dream recall is getting better recently...

I had a dream.... where it was after an economic/technological collapse. Power was scarce, food was stored and prepared in unconventional ways. Most forms of communication were gone. Phones were scarce and had limited function. All that was left tech wise in the house was a DVD player, and old TV, and a computer that could barely run windows 95. I had the opportunity of telling children the story of how it was before - of this mystical thing called 'the internet' and how using a computer you could connect to it and watch hundreds of thousands of different videos, and not just the two or three DVDs you had saved form before the fall. Oh what a treat that was, to have ample electricity and ease of communications.

It was a strange dream. Sad, in how we just stopped learning and advancing, and just starting clinging to relics of the past instead of inventing and discovering.

I frequently dream about my various former employers. Last night I was dreaming that I had somehow gotten back to my (very brief) job of hotel desk clerk, and there were all sorts of Machiavellian machinations in play with the other employees trying to undermine me. (In real life, this had been a single-digit per hour job, but in the dream it seemed my very life depended on it.) At one point a female guest was checking in and asked for a pack of Viagra, and I turned around and pulled a pack off the wall exactly like pulling down a pack of cigarettes in a convenience store and handed it to her. In the dream this made perfect sense to everyone involved.

Dreams where you get to fly are awesome! :D

I get them pretty regularly and the feeling sticks around a bit after I first wake up. I've always found it odd to have such weird, vivid, and unique sensations in dreams that you have never experienced in real life. More than that though, is that the sensation feels so natural to me as if I should be able to just up and go whenever I want.

DO IT. DDR is awesome.

I dreamt last night of the sound of scratching. Nails, dry and brittle, being run across my window. Not slowly, but not with haste either. A simple, deliberate, motion by someone who wanted me to know they were there. There was a dark menace about the sound, as if they were waiting for me to make one small, exploitable, error that would forever doom me to torment. This was not a sound of a cat wishing to be let inside, or of a tree branch moving against a roof, this was the unmistakeable sound of old, decaying human fingernails being dragged across window panes.

I stood up to investigate the sound, and as I moved over to my window, some car headlights passed across it, sillhouetting a vaguely human shape. Nothing distinct, but not amorphous enough to be mistaken for anything but a human built of a slight frame. They did not shrink away at the sudden illumination, they just continued their movements. I thought that surely someone would have noticed a person standing by my window, especially if they were turning around in the cul-de-sac. I must be imagining things, making demons out of shadows.

I treaded slowly across the room, reached my window, and as I went to pull up the shade to see what was on the other side, a hand suddenly grabbed my wrist from a very wrong angle. A voice that sounded like bone being ground into powder whispered in the back of my head, where my neck meets my skull, one simple, menacing phrase: "I would not do that, were I you."

I woke up with a ringing in my ears, and in a cold sweat.

Honestly, that was one of my tamer dreams. I don't tend to talk about the more difficult ones, as people shy away, can't handle, don't appreciate, pshaw, or otherwise denigrate the mindfuck I experience. I don't believe I lack for eloquence, and I am certain that I explain it sufficiently for their understanding, however there is never anything to be done but have them ignore it, or say "Well, at least it is just a dream."

Speaking for myself, that's mainly just from total lack of knowledge an acceptable reaction, so I freeze up. What do I do? Start dissecting a dream that wasn't mine, without any therapy training? Make a pop culture reference? Offer hugs?

Not asking about my dreams after I say, "normal nightmares," would be a good start for most people. Many people seem to think that people only have nightmares in the outlandish cartoony style. Mine are much more...they are darker than people expect from someone who doesn't come across as "emo".

There was some kind of earthquake, and my right arm got pinned under debris. My friend and I tried to call for help, but there wasn't any phone service; there was, however, a password-locked wireless network in range, and we had my laptop. I ended up walking her through how to crack the password, and once we got through we used Skype to call 911.

I had a dream in which someone had secretly transferred £550 pounds into my bank account, without it showing up on the statement. That's the only detail I can remember, other than it being on a paper statement, which I stopped receiving about two months ago. I'm also pretty sure the bank didn't know where it came from either, but were letting me keep it. It was definitely £550 pounds exactly... The numbers added up with what I know my current balance to be.

I had a dream where I was in Left 4 Dead. We teamed up with a SWAT team, fought a Tank that was black-and-white striped like a Referee, and found some remote-control helicopters that had weapons built on them (we even found a remote-control bomber, which made sense in the dream).

I also had a dream where I had superpowers (specifically, mind control which required physical contact, and the ability to stun someone with a blast of energy). I was even discovering new powers as I went along. The scary thing was that I was using these powers for evil, and enjoying it. I actually woke up very disturbed. I even lay in bed for several minutes thinking "oh crap was that messed up."

I had a dream where I was a werewolf. Seriously. I had been bitten, and in my dream it was the first time I'd be forced to change (i.e. it was a full moon) and apparently, in my dream at least, werewolves aren't rational during full moons. So, in order to keep from killing anyone (like my friends) my friends decided to try and restrain me. So, before the moon was up, they tried to tie me down to a chair. I kept breaking my bonds without realizing it (apparently) and then the chair became a folding plastic lawn chair. Even in my dream state I remember thinking "Seriously, guys? You couldn't find something better than a lawn chair?"

My dream then skipped to me getting access to an underground bunker, but in order to open the door I had to solve a very difficult math problem (made impossible by the fact that it was a dream and so all the variables were changing).

The weird thing was, in my dream I could feel the change happening; I could feel the power, and feel the fact that in not very long I was going to be a mindless killing machine for the night. It was kinda scary, actually.

I don't remember everything, but the general idea involved an Ocean's 11 style casino heist, going to Homecoming for my college, and spending time in prison.

The odd part is how vivid some details were. At one point I was passenger in a car driven by my friend Jacob. I distinctly recall see a truck make an ill advised left turn, and nearly losing its bumper to the car coming the other way. I also remember us pulling into his driveway, with a gravel parking lot behind it. We parked in a spot that had lots of grass growing up between where the tires went. When we got out, I forgot that I had my window open a bit. I tried closing it, and it worked. I commented on how odd it was that the car allowed you to close a window even after the keys were out of the ignition.

I just woke up from a "Fuck!" dream. No, I wasn't fucking or having some sort of sexual intercourse in the dream. A "Fuck!" dream is the kind of dream where you wake up right when a good part is taking place. You wake up, say "Fuck! I nearly had it/them/her/him!", then go back to sleep, unable to complete it.

In the dream, I was working at Hardee's (fast-food hamburger chain for those of you living beyond the 'Merican borders...Carl Jr.'s to some of you here in the States), and I think it was my second or third day there. I was just wandering around, not really doing anything. Had my mp3 player with me, with headphones, so I was heading out to my car to put it away. Boss tells me to get back inside; he needed me for lunch rush. All I was mainly doing was just wandering around the restaurant, not really doing much of anything. At one point he asked if I was doing something and I lied; I didn't want to be fired.

I was on my break, and started wandering around a bit. I came up on this hotel, and decided to ride the escalators to the top-most floor. After a few flights I was getting frustrated, since they weren't connecting a couple of floors. For some reason they started only connecting even-numbered floors on one side; odd-numbered floors on the other. Headed back down, and ran into a co-worker who was responsible for training me. He asked if I was coming back from break, I automatically replied "yeah", so we headed back down. On the way down we ran into a mother and her daughter, couldn't really make out details, except maybe blond hair? Curly at end? Anyways, they were selling pink lollies (cherry or watermelon-flavored) for Breast Cancer Awareness. They all had a small, pink ribbon tied to the stick, and the wrappers had been removed from all of them. The co-worker refused, but I bought a watermelon one for $1. We were heading back to the restaurant, and the co-worker motioned for me to follow him I think down the street where the restaurant was. I said I'd catch up, and continued wandering around town.

I ended up in a town I used to work in, and while just walking around, saw a few people sitting on some stairs outside of a government building, and along those stairs were boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I could tell from the boxes that these, too, were for some sort of charity or fundraiser. I asked whom I should pay for the doughnuts, and a guy came around the corner saying he was the seller. I said I wanted a box of chocolate-covered glazed. He picked one up, and as I was fishing the money out of my wallet ($3), I saw that a corner of one of my $5 bills was covered in chocolate. Tore it off, and it fell near a girl sitting on the steps. I apologized, and handed over the $3, and was about to receive the doughnuts. That's when I woke up.

In my dream, my car had been broken into. It's sad because it's happened so often in RL. The thieves had rendered the car undriveable, and I was out in the middle of nowhere with no way to get home and it was getting dark and cold.

And then there were zombies.

Sorry, I was trying to find a way to make the dream good for you.

Well I did let out a scream of rage in the dream, and ended up waking myself up because of it. Maybe the zombies would have come a few minutes later?

But what does it say about me that I'm having nightmares about petty crime? :|

Hey, it really sucks when stuff gets stolen.

For what it's worth, I have nightmares about work every other night.

Well last night I had a nightmare about going home to visit the parents. I actually get on quite well with them in RL, but in this dream, they were treating me like they did when I was 3. Now that is a nightmare.
