I don't think HAL counts as a robot.

Difficult choice between Optimus Prime and Marvin, but size won out. And HAL is a computer, not a robot.

Marvin the Paranoid Android! That's just the epitome of "cool robot." Actually, more like "emo robot," but the two are interchangeable anyway.

Edit: Dammmit! I did not see the Bender choice on that poll.

Bender, obviously. Followed by Optimus Prime and Marvin. Kryten was only cool when he gave Rimmer the finger.

I'm not sure if Vader even counts as a cyborg. I mean, if there were some kind of cyborg self-help group, would they allow Darth Vader to join?

Why do I find myself suddenly wondering who would win a bitch-choking contest: Darth Vader or Wayne Brady? This must be the power of the dark side of free association.

In an effort to salvage this post from complete irrelevancy: There's a reason they call him Optimus Prime.

On any other board this wouldn't be necessary to say, but no, it has nothing to do with his divisibility.

No Other Board Has THe Large Text Baron Either, Obviously.

Kryten isn't so much "cool" as he is "hilarious". Bender was the only real contender but ultimately Roy Batty's final lines in Blade Runner are just too powerful to ignore so he, along with all the other Blade Runner-replicants get my vote. So sorry Bender. :(

I would have voted Kryten, but the question asks for the COOLEST robot... that's Bender. The BEST robot might be considered Kryten, but he's a mechanoid, not a robot.
