Question to Life, the Universe, and Everything

I was watching my Tumblr, and found this phrase on an image: “The only constant in life is change”. Let's assume this statement is true.
Life changes over time; therefore, change is the derivative of life in respect to time.
$change = \frac{dlife}{dtime}$
On other side, all of you sure know that 42 is the Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything. According to HHGG, the answer is known but the question unknown. But what if we could relate it to the formula above?
Change is a constant. 42 is a constant. So:
$change = 42$
$42 = \frac{dlife}{dtime}$
And this would lead to the question: “What is the constant of change in life?”

If this is correct, then this universe must destroy itself and be replaced by something more bizarre. If not, then I've just ridiculized myself.

Re: Question to Life, the Universe, and Everything

Well, it at least implies a linear relationship between life and time.
The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

Damnit, Obby - I have that same image in my 'avatars' folder - just haven't cycled to it yet.

Now I can't use it cause it would look like I copied you.

Thanks :/

Using jsMath so my browser would freeze for a whole minute loading this, especially since it was far from necessary, convinced me that you are wrong.

You can't really put 'life' into equations like that, since it's not a variable to a number. Life is more of a series of variables.
