There is no better breakfast than a massive fry up, in my opinion.

The trick is recognizing which foods are vehicles for booze or bacon, and saturating them with such.

I'll pass on the coffee. And my favourite alcohol is tequila - not really a morning beverage :D
A beer however, would work.

How about a Desperardo's? Best of both worlds :)

I can't stand the stuff. Way too sweet.

Combining two good things does not always result in an even halfway ok thing :(

Unless forced I seriously cannot eat in the morning. I have tried to get in the habit time and time again but whenever I eat in the morning I just feel sick for the first few hours of my day.

Beats me.

I physically cannot eat within an hour of waking. Which is why I 'deskfast' and use other horrific portmanteaux.

My desk here at work is cluttered with breakfast paraphernalia; bowls, cups, teabags, half-emptied cereal boxes, crumbs, slightly-browning bananas, a jar of mustard (?), nhân con ngông bay sriracha hot chilli sauce (??), three Peruvian nuevo sol dollars (???), a computer mouse amateurishly painted in the style of Tron:Legacy using board markers, a USB stick corporate gift that is in the shape of a business man, where you must remove the head to plug it in (the head has gone missing), at least 16 of those tiny single-serve soy sauce fish-shaped containers that you get with takeaways, a wallet-sized photograph of someone else I found, three origami T-Rexes, although they look like vicious kangaroos, a sign saying "you don't have to be competent to work here (but it helps)", three singed pages of The Necronomicon (pages 61-66, but I can't tell which story), numerous doodles of Bart Simpson riding a badger, a plastic Bic® pen with a melted end (cause unknown), a photograph of myself with a former secret lover where I have printed off Max Payne's face and stuck it over her's, and a scratched copy of The Smith's Strangeways, Here We Come.

So... yeah. I only have breakfast at work, because I can't eat for an hour.

I rarely eat breakfast at all. Today I had porridge in a tub (just add hot water!) and it was pretty bleh.

I might go back to not eating breakfast.

For me, nothing beats a steak one egg, and some bacon.
I also have to wait about an hour before I can eat, and enjoy it, in the morning.

My fellow men, a simple question

Beard, yes or no?

If you can pull it off (not patchy, not neckbeard, preferably softer), then yes. If your workplace or SO says no, then try and get around it, and then yes.

You can have it be not a neckbeard by shaving your neck. This trap is easy to avoid. (so avoid it.)

Beard.

Do it. I'm currently rocking what I call the laze-beard. I could shave. I should shave. But fuck you, I like it.

I got ID'd for buying beer the other day, and the guy almost didn't sell me it - my driver's license has 17 year old me, barely a hair on my top lip, let alone the rest of my face, on it.

My gf hates it. My mother dislikes it. The guys at work give me stick. But fuck them, I like it.

Oh, I'm already doing it, my avatar actually is me

Yeah, I got some flak at first, but now most people actually agree it suits me (except my sister, mostly). At work, some are joking about it, while other admitted they were jealous. I actually started my beard because of a bet at work. I'd wanted to do it for longer, but a bet of not shaving for 2 months = 2 cases of beer finally convinced me. I do trim it regularly though, else it gets all scraggly and shit.

I usually get estimated 7-10 years older than I actually am. But I've never once been carded, not even back when I was 15 :P

I'm jealous. I don't like me with a beard but I'm too damn lazy to shave more than once or twice a week.

Indeed. The biggest problem with growing a beard and having no beard experience is... you have only a vague notion as to what to expect, you have to spend a week or so (maybe more, maybe less) looking like you failed basic hygiene, and it takes a month before you have something you can use to guesstimate a final appearance.

Because... (back when I had hair) this looks like this when clean-shaven.

(Of course, these days, I look like this. Minus the hat. Usually)

Although, I shouldn't be bitching; graduate school is like college minus expectations of hygiene.

I hear this a lot and it's weird to me. Where I went it was the undergrads who were smelly and unwashed, and the grad students who knew what a bar of soap and a button-up shirt looked like.

I'm kind of kidding; most of us are pretty clean, and none of us are coming to classes/lectures/journal clubs in sweat pants or pajamas. I think if anything, grad students have less social graces, but yeah, most of us bathe at least 4+ a... week

Well, yea, I know it's a joke, just like it's kind of a joke that undergrads are all unwashed and smelly. I'm just saying I have no experiences, and in fact have the opposite experience, from which to draw parallels to the joke, so it always sounds odd to me.

My boss has made jokes that I'm the upper end of the social competency spectrum found here because I *sometimes* make eye contact in conversation.

Anyway. Beards. They were fun. I prefer to remain buzzed (razor hasn't touched my face in probably 6 years now?), but wouldn't bring any means of grooming on a long camping trip.

I'm in a bit of a conundrum regarding my beard. I like it, but I also miss shaving. Considering it's winter though, I think keeping it just barely wins over shaving. At least until April.

Does it not require shaving the neck?

Re: Boy Thread: All Roads Got Back

I do shave my neck. But the part about shaving that I miss is my little ritual that goes with using a straight razor. I don't use a straight razor to shave my neck because I'm just bad at it. I can't seem to position the blade or my hands correctly, and I don't get a good shave out of it, so I just use a regular razor on my neck. Which is boring.

Yeah, I currently have a bit of a neck-beard myself. Basically I didn't feel like shaving, so I just haven't for the past year or so. And I think it looks decent enough that I don't really feel like doing anything to it. *shrugs*

I'm going to be perfectly honest here and say that one of the reasons I haven't started electrocuting my face hair off is because shaving with a straight razor and soap just feels really awesome.

If you're going to grow facial hair, keep that shit tidy. Neck beards are unacceptable unless it's down to your chest and the bones of your enemies are woven in.
