Help a 5 year old girl with Neuroblastoma get treatment

Postby roband » Wed Jan 11, 2012 10:00 pm UTC

Sup guys. Posting this on behalf of my girlfriend who is a teaching assistant in a primary school.

One of the children there is 5 year old Niamh Curry. She has a type of cancer called Neuroblastoma (Stage 4 High Risk).

The reason for the post is to ask you to visit http://www.justgiving.com/NiamhsNextStep and read her story, also if you are in a position to do so - a donation would be greatly appreciated.

As you can see from that page, they are trying to raise a rather large amount of money for the treatment, which takes place in America. Since the 5th of January, a surprisingly large amount of money (in my eyes anyway) has been raised already, but every donation will help.

There is also a twitter account charting Niamh's current treatment in the UK - https://twitter.com/NiamhsNextStep

Finally, I hope this doesn't come across as too forward, I'm certainly not demanding you go to the page and/or donate. Just trying to do my bit to help, by spreading the word.

When I asked my girlfriend to confirm her age, for this thread, she told me "She's only 5 and is honestly one of the most amazing children I've ever met."

Thanks.

Niamh passed away in her sleep last night, with her mum and dad holding her.

The donations reached £306,000.

It's crazy how fast a year goes. I don't really have anything to add to this thread, just wanted to make a mark of something.
