Firefox won't work on xkcd

Postby Kurushimi » Sat Nov 06, 2010 10:42 pm UTC

When I use my Firefox browser, and I go to xkcd it doesn't work. I log on to my account and then, as it redirects me, I get logged out again. It even logs me out if I click on a link before it redirects me. Something similar happened on my school computers (with I.E.) but this was fixed by selecting the "Log me in automatically" whereas this fix doesn't work with the Firefox installation at home.

Does anyone know what the problem may be and what I can do to fix it?

Clear your cache and delete your cookies for the site. They're the Internet equivalent of turning it off and turning it on again... it'll fix 90% of your problems.

Code: Select all

enum ಠ_ಠ {°□°╰=1, °Д°╰, ಠ益ಠ╰};
void ┻━┻︵╰(ಠ_ಠ ⚠) {exit((int)⚠);}

Ah, thank you. That fixed it.

Firefox really should have the "reset website cookies" button somewhere prominent. Making non-technical people "reset cookies" through some deep menu seems cruel, when it fixes so many problems...

Does Fx even have a "reset cookies for just this website" button? The only ones I know of delete your cookies for every website, unless you go into the actual cookie list and delete them manually...

There's probably an extension for it, though.

Code: Select all

enum ಠ_ಠ {°□°╰=1, °Д°╰, ಠ益ಠ╰};
void ┻━┻︵╰(ಠ_ಠ ⚠) {exit((int)⚠);}
[he/him/his]

Yep, that's exactly the sort of thing I was thinking of. Thanks.

Code: Select all

enum ಠ_ಠ {°□°╰=1, °Д°╰, ಠ益ಠ╰};
void ┻━┻︵╰(ಠ_ಠ ⚠) {exit((int)⚠);}

Tools, options, "remove individual cookies", type in the website name, then select "remove".
