The Casual Collective: Competitive Tower D

Postby Phenriz » Thu Aug 23, 2007 4:04 pm UTC

http://www.casualcollective.com/

I have 7 invitations left to Casual Collective's: Desktop Tower D Multiplayer Beta.

First 7 people that speak up, and want the invites get the invites.

I am liking this setup they have so far, although i'm hoping they get to a point where you can play co-operatively on the same map as other players (like in some of Blizzard's RTS UMS games). As it stands right now there are multiple game modes for playing online, some are quite challenging, and you earn points for your profile based on how well you do.

There is a bug currently that will not allow you to chat during the game, it is being worked on, you can chat in the game waiting room, while waiting for other players to join your map.

Ooh, hit me up with one of those please. I haven't played much of that game, but it's hella fun.

EDIT: Wait, I think I misunderstood your post. I thought you meant invites for a Desktop Tower Defense multiplayer beta - looking at the site it seems to be an Xfire-like service. Can you elaborate?

It's the beta, and it has an xfire like interface built into the site, once it's fully fleshed out it has the potential to be a beast, you're invite is in your PM Box here on the forums.

Wait, are we using Twas's vent for something now? If so, then I'll take one.

I'll join you, if I may. I do love TD's, from SC to WC3.

Turns out i was wrong about the invite system, i can only have 10 pending invites at one time, so looks like i can invita and unlimited amount of TD noobs.

If you're an active member of the forums, and want a code let me know.

For those of you who are just joining the forums just for a beta invite, gtfo or join the xkcd community.

I'll give it a shot. I love good TD games. But hate bad ones, so we'll see.

It's the same as the Handdrawn Desktop TD, methinks (from looking at the single-player link). For some reason it wouldn't let me join anyone or host a game, but I think I'll get that figured out and try the multiplayer tonight.

Also... Anyone know a flash TD with Lurkers from Brood War? I can't find my SC disks and all this talk about TDs makes me want to Drop a couple of Lurkers on some games.

I've been having some fun with this. The strategy is quite different than the single player version.

Add me to your friends list. VTHodge, of course.

EDIT: ARGH! I can't play at work. Won't connect!

You'd totally do better by posting invites.

I took one of Nab's invites, as I find these tower defense games rather entertaining. Here's a new one in return...

invite

lol true, but i didn't want random people on the interblags coming and taking invites, as if you read the TOS you're responsible for the people who use your invites.

just watching my own ass ;)

Can anyone score a perfect on the single player? I've been trying to do that last night on medium, but I always let one leak and find myself restarting...

People should PM invites to active xkcd members who have been waiting over a month to join in.

Edit: Is anyone else trying to beat the 10k gold Fun mode (single player)? I know it sounds unsporting, but I can't get passed Level 77 (damn fliers). Best score so far is 9546.
