Don't remind me of those 2 arenas I did...

Resto Shammy, Resto Druid, Holy Pally
vs
Resto Druid, Restro Druid, Rogue

Each was over an hour...

I despise going up against a team of stealthers in arena battles. As a hunter, I know they're stealthing. As a rogue who can see a hunter, they know we know they're stealthing. They also know we will know when they're close as we keep our camp trapped and flared. So why should they waste their and our time by sitting invisible, and get on with the fight already?

Anyone else try out Kalecgos yet? We just finished him on our 5th or 6th day of attempts (I can't even remember it was so painful), and in the end, I must admit it was an awesome fight. It's really well done and certainly not something you can stumble into and get a kill (first bosses of Hyjal/BT).

We haven't had a shot at Brutallus yet, but we hear he is just as rough.

Other question, anyone on here get to do stuff on the test servers? I'm kind of interested in how the Muru/Eredar Twins fights are set up. I have a slight idea from the wowhead data on the Eredar twins abilities.. o_o

So after a terrible 25man raid that night, we tried another speed run of ZA for a bear mount. Previous attempts either didn't have enough DPS (once I brought a rogue that did 10% of the damage, while the other 5 DPSers did 15-16% of it, and we missed the timer by about 2 minutes), wiped (FAIL@SCOUTS TO DRAGONHAWK >.<), or tanks dieing on bosses. So we went in today and:

Image

When we made the timer, they unanimously agreed that I should get the mount for organizing basically every guild ZA run and putting together speed runs for it. ilu all <3.

A shot of the raid that made this happen:
Image

Anbukakashi: Makes the best fried rice on the east coast because HE'S ASIAN.
Bubbletrubel: Second most sexy man in the world. House of Gay member 1/4.
Eddiee: Bearforce 1. He's ASIAN.
Crebain: A computer guy, my favoritest person.
Beyoter: Crebain's brother (I think.. heh), never met him but if he's anything like Crebain then <3.
Neartanam (behind Mackey's nameplate): Awesome at everything. House of Gay member 2/4.
Mackey: He's ASIAN and kicks bosses ASSES with shield slams and shit.
Plucker: Smells, but she's sexy too. House of Gay member 3/4.
Seimic: WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH THIS MAN. 100% SERIOUS.

Yes, the Firefly pet was definitely worth getting.

We got a day and a half of testing in on M'uru. From what we were able to gather, warlocks need to be absolutely pro at enslaving and using their minions or else the raid will wipe quickly. It's much like Morogrim or Akama where adds are constantly flooding the room.

Brutallus and Felmyst are going to be the brick walls for most guilds though.

Nanatsusaya - 70 holy priest on Quel'Thalas EU. Currently 500g away from a flying mount with no instances to go to because a)there are crap-all tanks and b)the tank we do have have nobbed off to the Sunwell. So meh. Will probably wait for the next expansion to start "new" with everyone else. Plus the usual horde of alts from 8-62.

Nice set of Judgement Armour (and possibly an Azuresong Mageblade), but it's not as great as that one woman who went to Blizzcon with a complete Warlock Tier 6 set, complete with flashy-flashy skulls and retractable demon-wings.

Yeah it was a good cosplay, but it didn't actually look like the armor in game...

THAT does, and it's ACTUALLY ARMOR.

A friend of mine recently picked up tickets for the Paris 'Blizzcon' event this summer. He's going with some other family members to it. I would be going if there wasn't a major conflict between the date of the event (weekend around 27/28 June) and the fact I need to be at home that weekend as I predict I will be doing a certain bit of preparation for that coming week. Oh well...

He did promise me he'd pass on whatever WoW in-game code is on offer in the welcome pack though, as he's departed from WoW and is only interested in the SC2 demos.

Someday I will go to one of those events, complete with a full Tier 2 Hunter Dragonstalker set and Wind Serpent companion.

Gosh darn it. For the second time, I have dragged my character's arse all the way across Azshara from Ironforge, to the small island where you are supposed to signal for the goblin's airship. So, after much elite Cliff Walker dodging, I Get there. Um...

How do I signal again?

Oh, of course--the flare!
Where's the flare gun?
Oh, of course--Ironforge!
Where's my hearthstone go to?
Oh, of course--Feathermoon Stronghold.

Actually it's just the running around you have to do as an Ally Warlock is ridiculous. Seriously some of the Warlock Quests take forever, every 2nd step is to travel to Ratchet.

I just started playing again after 4 months. I never really quit, I just lost access for a month or so and never got around to joining in again.

I stopped with a 70 mage raiding bt, 70 rogue just getting geared enough to compete realistically in the arena, and a 58 shammy.

If my mage wasn't geared as well as he is, I'd just say **** it until the expansion, because I lost all progress in PvP gear viability on my rogue. Now I get to spend the next 2 months doing undergeared arenas again if I want to be where I was :\

I got my new Rogue to 70 about a week ago. It's been fun playing as a Rogue again.
My gear's a little crappy but I went in to Kara with my guild on a gearing run for the newer guys and I got Malchazeen and Emerald Ripper so I'm using my most hated spec : Combat Daggers.

Ew Combat Daggers sucks for a 70 rogue, even if you did have those.

Side Ego Note: My guild leaders constantly called me "The best raiding rogue ever" (verbatim) because I constantly outdamaged everyone without taking aggro except on fights where I wasn't allowed to attack at all (old romeo fight etc.)

Yes, even on Prince (and similar fights) I outdpsed everyone.

That's some serious theorycraft application there if you managed to hit top dps on what is essentially a heavily range dps-favoured fight (assuming similar class gear equivalence).

My previous guild (itself a splinter of a splinter of one guild that eventually jumped server) recently merged with a more larger and flexible raiding guild. As opposed to the previous guilds I've been in, it was straight into a DKP system for Karazhan and Gruul's. I do favour the merits of the system over a straight dice-rolling contest; lost count how many times an arrogant inexperienced player wins items through probability rather than skill and experience.

Hilarious as well when you place a bid for an item (in this case the dps ring off Malch), then see the other player whose bid you matched, skyrocket up to a value you wouldn't want to expend lightly, but to that person it's small change from a significant DKP account as a result of running the same instance 20 times.

The guild I ran with did a "who would benefit the guild the most with this item" type loot handout. I figured it worked really well, noone really got pissed at all.

Being myself a DPS (MS specced warrior), and because we're finally attaining the harder bosses (we've downed Vashj ! and beggining KT and Hyjal), I'm beggining to do some serious researchs on how to improve my contribution to the raid (mostly dps, but also buffs/debuffs (blood frenzy and demoralising shouts mostly)), and numbers are not in my favor :'( (I calculated that in 1.5s, I can generate as much aggro as 8.5 sunder armor or a shield slam and heroic strike (both crit) of one of our best tanks :'( and no vanish or feint or cower...)

Considering loot attribution, we're a rather small-ish guild (50 guildmates, perhaps more, I don't really know... 40 really active, roughly), officers keep track of who need what, and who recently had something, and decide upon that and the age of the captain.

Yeh, as well as DKP, they take into account the character's rank in the guild (whether it's trial, alt or full member), then class, spec and existing gear, while deliberating it. In Kara this week, they had to spend 10 minutes explaining to the fury-spec warrior that his bids for King's Defender were null and void as a protection paladin (healing on that night) had greater priority.
I did feel sorry for him, as it's really only a child playing it. He's alright as a player, just has yet to get deep into the system of "what item is beneficial" thought. King's Defender is a nice-looking sword, I will give him that. Just he needed to be aware that defense rating is essentially null and void for DPS-classes, while that sword is a staple feature of most T4 tanks.

You need to be fury.

Dual wield spec = The best PvE talent on any class.

You'd only need MS if you don't have a rogue with wounding (or the target is immune to poison) on healing fights (no clue how many of these exist).

Especially since you're a warrior you basically should NEVER DPS unless you ALWAYS have salvation on. You can pull off the best DPS you can do for a while as a rogue, and might get away with it with feint/vanish but especially on fights where aggro fucks around you want to have salvation on.

I think a good idea would be to try and get epic weapons/trinkets that proc (or active use w/ low cd) increased attack speed.

Edit: Yeah DKP is fine as long as it's restricted and guided in some way. Just simple DKP = hell, almost worse than random.

I used the latest Excel spreadsheet of ElitistJerks to check my gear/spec/dps. In fact, I'm not that bad (roughly 880 dps for a little more than 480 tps on raid conditions, nearly 1000 dps if I have a friendly shaman that use the Windfury totem). But my added value lie in blood frenzy. The physical dps-ers of the raid love me ! +3% physical damages, i.e. +3% dps for tanks, hunters, rogues and cats ! Plus, I'll probably get the improved demoralizing shout (less strain for the healers). I'll still be low in the dps (should be around the tenth place on the dps-meter), but my contribution to the raid is far from negligeable !

MS isn't here for the debuff on heals, it's only here to deal augmented damages.
My cycle is like this : white hit -> slam -> MS -> white hit -> slam -> WhirlWind -> white hit -> slam -> MS -> white hit -> slam -> some instant tech (shout refresh, deathwish, whatever).
In a 2H deep fury template, Blood Thirst is used instead of MS. But you loose blood frenzy.

It's been a while that I abandonned all hope of being first on the dps-meter :)

And yes, I only dps when I'm under salvation :) And as I like to joke, I do have a vanish... But it costs 4 gp and a combat-rez

I don't really need haste, because my dps cycle force me to have a weapon speed no less than 2.5s (after all haste effects (flurry, procs, whatever)), so haste isn't my primary concern. Armor penetration, on the other hand...

You forgot to add that MS/Slam is so much more fun than DW-Fury :D. 880 dps does seem a bit low though, if you aren't given windfury that needs to be fixed; your spec without a windfury is like a tank not being defense capped, just silly.

Armor penetration is pretty damn useless in PvE, especially vs. bosses.

@sunami : true, with WF, I go over 1k theorical dps, but our Enhancement Shaman decided to respec elemental

@Gelsamel : not true. I invite you to read the "Armor and armor penetration section" of this post : http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t22705-dps_ ... ompendium/ . ArP is efficient (unless, of course, you loose too much of other stats).
