I have an absolutely gargantuan mob farm. Mob farms have a positive feedback cycle, because once you have one, you get some TNT (just leave it running in the background, open inventory and tab out) and then you can use the TNT to get lots of stone - the proper mining technique produces roughly 25 cobblestone per TNT and loads of everything else. Then you can use the cobblestone to build a bigger mob farm.Levi wrote:WarDaft wrote:You'll need it to get your first 3 diamonds though. But yes, for general mining, it's either stone or diamond. Now that I have a steady supply of TNT, I usually only use a pick axe for opening passages and shaping structures, so it's just diamond now.
How did you manage a steady supply of TNT?
I really should be working, so instead I'll post a screenshot of it.
Here we have a single layer of the mob farm. The squares are 4x4, making the whole floor 32x32, half of which is spawning area.
This is the monster as it stands. It has 10 full spawning layers so far, as well as the catching basin (a water funnel) a top plate (less stone than full walls, and leaves room for easy horizontal expansion) and uses an incinerator at the base to kill the mobs.
