Alright, Spleef Tower is almost complete, netherrack or wool will be the preferred choice (for either lighting on fire or destroying), depending on how much reparation you feel like doing. I need to add a dome and some other stuff, but once the floor is done you guys can start playing if you want to. Also, I think I will hold some sort of tournament once it's 100 % finished.

Are there any plans to do the vertical city? I'd love to help dig the pit. It sounds like a fun project and I could certainly use the sand and soil.

On a server I used to play on there was a partly completed spleef area that would auto-repair (was sand based, with a automatic sand placer and such.

in other news I now have a teleporter because I couldn't be bothered to climb the stairs to my tower. A compact design, 2*2*2. (lever right in front of the blocks being pushed, with either one piece of Redstone or a torch behind it beside the pistons).

mieulium, I saw your sign. I was unaware that I had built on claimed land. Rirez helped me pick out the spot a couple weeks ago.

Rirez suggested that part of the village could be removed to make way for your till, but if that isn't satisfactory I can leave.

What say you?

@Kain: Just beware of server crashes due to too many items! =p

@snark/mieu: I think the best compromise would be for mieu to take control over the village (we can take out half of it, I think, and we have plenty of space to the north). Alternatively, you could provide villager housing if you're going to do your building projects! Thing is, we have several people in need to near-pandora housing in the area, and I know at least 3 people have small land areas between the road and BlueJello's flying fortress of horrifying vertigo. I would suggest lateral (road-wise) expansion.

North of my Birch forest and east of Rirez staircase there's a village. It has 3 villagers wich i closed into a church hoping for that they will make love. But they never make love, anyone knows why?

I made them a small "garden" so they can walk out.

They reproduce based on the number of doors. You have to build them houses.
I like building houses, maybe I will get back on the server (I've just been distracted/ working stuff out on my single player games) and help you build a nice neighborhood.

They started breeding so I'm perfectly fine. The village got houses with several doors, so just do whatever you want there.

Nope, as I recall someone (I don't remember who) actually made the boat trip with the cows in tow. (At least I assume they did, seeing as they gave somewhat periodic 'updates' [read complaints about the mooshrooms swimming so slow] over quite a long play session).

I also like how the tectonius map shows our desperate attempts for finding land from waterworld.

I deleted before you posted... Kain answered it, and I hadn't read the new page.

As for your own problem, I can't see a fix that isn't an op helping out, though somehow, someone pushed a lot of villagers to the city village before villagers could breed... but that wasn't a very long voyage.

According to the wiki they can be put in minecarts. If you're building a track over there anyway problem solved!

Hey all. I have a Fortune 3 pick in my green/white wool house NE of pandora by the village.

Feel free to borrow it. For lease by the hour, month, or century.

Just leave a message when you take it so I know where it's at.

I'm not British, but cannot resist the urge to say:

Cheers!

Before animals could be led with wheat I had small success digging a 2 meter deep trench getting chickens to fall in it and when the walked the way i wanted them to i would fill in the trench behind them. I dont know how far your trying to get the villagers to move though.

I know it's a little late but I was wondering: won't the death messages give the traitor away, unless they manage to push someone in lava or something? Or is that intentional, and the traitor has to make sure not to have the killing blow?
Also, would it be considered cheating to look around in the map beforehand and know where the eyes are at?

And what exactly is Hamachi supposed to do? I'm not tech-savvy and the wikipedia page is greek to me.

Betas have shown that once the traitor kills one person he usually kills them all, there are a lot of good locations for knocking people off of high things as well :D.

Hamachi is used when your computer is too afraid of Port-forwarding, it opens up a connection between two computers, it also allows you to play a cracked account on a server!

Yup that was me, I just slowly sailed over holding wheat while the mooshroom paddled along behind me. The worst part was navigating the desert to the south of Pandora - it's full of holes and cacti and I only had 3 mooshrooms at that point (started with 5, one fell behind in the middle of the ocean, another managed to drown itself on the shoreline :? ).

But anyway, as Bla said, villagers will sit in minecarts, so you could build a temporary track for them and cart them over.

Also you probably missed this question because I lumped it together with the first one, so I'll ask again: Would it be considered cheating to explore the map beforehand and know where the eyes are at?

I'd imagine A) it'd be kinda poor sportsmanship, B) it'd be really hard to tell if you've done it, and C) people'd find out anyways after a few playthroughs.

And Re:station

I thought you meant shifting the track laterally. Extending or contracting it's fine.

I realise this thread is mostly about the xkcdian servers, but I'm sneaking in here to ask if anyone in here has any experience in dealing with mods?

I'm getting a laughable 5-10 fps at the moment, and really starting to affect my enjoyment of the game. (I'm blaming watching far too much of the Mindcrack Ultra Hardcore series of late - I suspect that I'm subconsciously comparing my jerky picture to what I watch on Youtube.) Earlier I was down in a ravine and trying to shoot a zombie on the other side, and he was just able to walk past 'cause no matter what I did, I couldn't get the cursor *ahead* of him, so I was just shooting arrows along behind him as he ambled along happily. Well, as happy as a zombie could be.

I've had folk recomment OptiFine, and it looks like it would help me, but I just couldn't get it to install. Tried it manually. Nothing. Tried the Magic Installer. Nothing. Tried all 3 versions that I could see. Nothing. I suppose I can be happy I didn't crash Minecraft, as happened the last time I tried to install a mod, but still, I'd've expected *something* to happen.

Knowing me, I'm missing some simple step that hasn't even been included in the instructions because any idiot would know to do it...

tl;dr

Frame rate terrible.

like you already have heard, use optifine.

did you make sure to take the class files inside the zip, and not just the zip itself? you need to put them into your minecraft.jar, which is inside the "bin" folder in your .minecraft folder.

I don't have any experience with magic launcher, but I've installed plenty of mods. if you do end up getting a crash report, copy it and put it in a spoiler so that we can look at it without it filling the page.
Um, this post feels devoid of content. Good luck?
For comparison, that means that if the cabbage guy from Avatar: The Last Airbender filled up his cart with lettuce instead, it would be about a quarter of a lethal dose.

The spleef arena is open for business - minecraft is bugging me now for some reason, so I can't play. You can either use picks or flint and steel for a variation of spleef. If you put a bucket of water on the center block, you will put out most of the fires, for easier resetting. There's no roof or spectator seats YET.

I *think* that's what I did... But I'm going to try and say specifically what I did, 'cause it was this stage that I was least confident about.

[Note: I feel like a right twit here, there were only 6 lines of instructions, and one of those is 'start minecraft' and yet somehow I messed up. :D]

Anyway, I had both the optifine download and the minecraft.jar open with winrar, and I selected and dragged the class files from the download into the minecraft.jar (and I had a quick check before to see which files were to be replaced and they certainly appeared to change). Does that sound right?

If so, I'll probably give it another go tomorrow. (I spent a silly amount of time on it tonight and have had enough for now!)

Make sure to delete the META-INF folder in minecraft.jar too.
