Made of Honor
Spoiler:
Yeah I'm really glad about that. The way her arc ended was not great, and I think this does a lot to redeem her. I hope they don't get rid of her at the end of tonight's special... Also I expected "Made of Honor" to be related to "Made of Love" from Stronger Than You. Guess I was wrong.

How far apart are you watching episodes? I'm curious how the pacing works without Cartoon Network doing whatever it does with the scheduling. The gap between Lars' Head and Dewey Wins was especially bad. May to November, holy cow.

The week's bomb is
Spoiler:
moving through things pretty quickly. Kinda anti-climactic, but I like it.
People talking about their feelings, no need to draw out conflict just to have it

I watched to a single pale rose.

Spoiler:
Me too, her arc just felt incomplete before that. It just struck me as odd that the Crystal Gems decided to keep her bubbled, Made of Honor both explained and resolved that rather nicely.

Spoilers about the entire arc (up to and including "Reunited"):

Spoiler:
I liked this a lot! I liked we got a chance to have a bit slower pacing compared to a lot of action-packed episodes in the past. I'm very curious about where they take things from here. I wonder if the diamonds will try to revive Pink Diamond and destroy Steven. I guess his dream world was whatever his poofing is supposed to be like? We've never seen poofing from a gem's point of view.

Spoilers for previous of next episode and speculation about end of show:
Spoiler:
Looks like they show the diamonds the centipeedle, so I'm getting that they are going to try and wrap up the series with the diamonds managing to heal the corrupted gems. Though we've still got Lars in space to contend with and the whole society of homeworld in general

Speculation on the god-like nature of the diamonds:
Spoiler:
Yellow and Blue both seemed to be more aware of the dreamworld than the others (which also fits with Steven being able to go into people's dreams), though Garnet also kind of knew what was going on. Pink saw herself as bringing the gift of life out of nothing, and she also has the powers to heal gems/humans, bring organic matter back to life, and bend [organic] plants to her will. I'm beginning to wonder whether we will ever find out more about what exactly the diamonds are and where they come from because they have a lot of powers over organic matter as well as gens.

Spoiler:
We don't know how many sentient cultures the diamonds worked on destroying in their various conquests - doesn't each diamond have around a dozen or so planets as seen in the moon base murals? It would be hard to redeem the diamonds and homeworld's war culture. I do expect the corrupted gems to be restored though.

My theory on gem "biology":
Spoiler:
Gems are sentient crystalline computers that manifest their bodies using (sufficiently advanced) nanomachines. Pink's healing powers are just her nanites repairing the subject's living tissue. In the case of Lars (and presumably Lion), since he was deceased instead of injured, the nanites instead replace all of the subject's living tissue, which results in him being essentially an immortal pink clone of the original. In the case of the corrupted gems, they are broken at the software level, which is why Pink's healing powers aren't effective at curing them. The abilities that gems have are largely determined when they're created; the diamonds just have more abilities built-in, since they're meant to be the rulers of their society.

Regarding how the series might end:
Spoiler:
So it seems that White Diamond is the leader of gem society, and given that we have very little concrete info about her, it's hard to predict what her personality and motives are. My thought is that while Blue and Yellow might be amenable to regarding organic life & gem individuality as things worth protecting, White won't be, and thus is the final villain to be overcome. I wouldn't necessarily describe Homeworld as a "war culture", more like a "grey goo" scenario where the sole motivation for the gem leadership is to produce more gems.

It's unlikely, but it would be an interesting reveal that White Diamond was created by an ancient alien race that was then wiped out by the gems' relentless galactic expansion.

that's about nine episodes in three days, or 3 episodes a day.
As an 11 minute cartoon show, it's kind of amazing how fast they move through stuff sometimes, but there's also episodes that feel transitional and kind of empty without the surrounding episodes, like Adventures in Light Distortion, and What's Your Problem.

gosh, I really like hearing Sugar talk about why she's making the show. Podcast that made me cryQUEERY with Cameron Esposito
