Favorite animated character

Postby dumbclown » Thu Sep 20, 2007 6:54 pm UTC

Who is your favourite animated character.

I would have to go with Bloo from foster's home for imaginary friends or Toot from drawn together. Bloo is so psychopathic in a children friendly way.

Zuko, from "Avatar: The Last Airbender". With Iroh as a close runner up.

Though, really, any of the characters on that show rates pretty high. Zuko and Iroh are just the most interesting and nuanced (read: grey)

DeeDee from Dexter's Lab. I love her enthusiasm, and the way her feet go 'squish' when she walks.

(sqeeeeel, Avatar! new season starts tomorow!)

I'm never good at picking favorites...
maybe Lilo (I'm pretending all the bad sequel-ness doesn't exist) "My friends need to be punished".

Or maybe Squidward, up until the show started to suck. "When I die, you stay away from my funeral".

*Sigh*... Well, i have too many, but hands down... I think it's Konata Izumi:

But Fry, Gir, Bender, Haruko, Cosmo, Lucy/Nyu, and SO many others are right behind her.

There's a three-way tie in my head between Freakazoid, Yakko Warner, and Professor Farnsworth..

You mean there are people that are able to choose just one favorite?

I know I can't possibly get a list down to just one, and my favorite seems to change quite frequently, often depending on what I'm watching at the time. However, all that being said, my top five (for the moment, at least), are as follows:

5. Ren, from Ren & Stimpy
4. Freakazoid
3. Space Ghost (Coast to Coast version)
2. Bender
and
1. the members of Dethklok, from Metalocalypse (grouped together for convenience)

Fakir, from Princess Tutu, one of the most deeply complex characters I've ever seen in an animated series.

... and yes, despite the -idiotic- title, Princess Tutu is actually an -AMAZING- series.

Uhh, Poliwag. Does that count as a character? If not, then probably the entire Simpsons cast, with either Homer or Moe leading.

LOVE that movie. Lilo's so cynical and anti-Disney, it's great. "Do you know what tuna is?? ... IT'S FISH!!! If I gave Pudge tuna, I'd be an ABOMINATION!"

Besides Lilo, I love James from Pokemon. I know, I know, but he's awesome.

She is, isn't she? Have you seen the deleted scenes? (they're posted on youtube, one is super sad)

Something I noticed, the theme song for Poke-mon used to be so much cooler. Then each season got more and more pastel colors.

ALL of the Looney Tunes.

Takamachi Nanoha, followed closely by the Crab People from that South Park episode. Nanoha is just adorable and, say what you will, the reveal of the Crab People had me laughing my ass off at the complete and utter whatthefuckery.

Kif Kroker, Vash the Stampede, and Kuzko (from The Emperor's New Groove) are also up there.

I hate to be all cliche and obvious for my particular brand of subcultur, but...GIR.

Yeah, Spike Speigle does roxorz, as does Jin from Champloo. I wouldn't say Vash is the best from Trigun, as cool as he is, I'd have to go with Wolfwood. Then again it's been a LONG time since I watched Trigun. It was the first anime that really drew me in to the genre...not that it's a genre perse... Since Bebop though, nothing else comes close. I liked Hellsing pretty well, and it only being 13 episodes helped.
Most of the anime I see I feel is so...the same crappy forumulaic "lets be weird for the sake of it now" "ok lets have the hero and bigger bad guys" stuff. Excel Saga was also pretty good, but Bobobobo bobo was just like it, only even more ADD.

AGH! Freakazoid! What a show! I only saw a little of it, but DAMN it was amazing! Also The Tick. I need more Tick. (shut up). I really enjoy Zorak from space ghost, and ofcourse Brack. "new Brack show! 11:30! Use your eyes. USE YOUR EYES!"

and ofcourse lest not forget Futurama. Zoidberg is the MAN!
oh, and Jay's father from The Critic. His name escapes me.

Li Shengshun is one of my favorite more recent characters, along with the cast of Black Lagoon.

Also:
Vash and Wolfwood
The Tachikoma
Kuze
L (with caveats) and Light Yagami
Spoiler:
L is one of the most awesome presentations of Aspergers/High Functioning Autism in anime, but his successors Nate and Mello just fail.
