am i the only one the thought the "pull to open" was meant for the hatch that the phone is behind, rather than the whole door?

Apparently it's meant for the full doors. Or it was back in the 60's when the things still existed "in the wild".

I like the way The Doctor explains everything with dissimile. "Imagine it's like *this*. It's not actually like *that*, but if I tell you how it really works your head asplode, which would make a terrible mess all over my nice clean TARDIS."

Also, I was (in my head - it seemed too complex to explain) referring to the weird hatch lady as Future Amy (because of Future Pam in Look Around You 2, who has a Future Eye-Patch like weird hatch lady), but because she's unlikely to be Amy, I just call her Future Pam now.

Completely off topic, but my Physics teacher handed out periodic tables to help with a particular question we were working on and it was at least three minutes before anyone noticed it was the Look Around You version. That show was awesome.

Something I noticed during one of the episode clips during the Confidential attached to "The Doctor's Wife": Just before the TARDIS begins flying itself, the Doctor mentions the Eye of Orion as a potential destination.

The reason I mention it?

I suspect the Hatch Lady is probably related to the same mysterious woman from The End of Time. (They wouldn't chuck her away, would they?)

So, considering that I've been excited for this since I heard Neil Gaiman was doing a Who episode, I have to say that it did not disappoint. This whole season has so far been really good, although the pirate one was perhaps not quite of the same caliber as the rest. I hope they manage to get this arc to come together though...so far it seems really ambitious...

Ok, I have more info on the video thing I posted last night.

If you go to the BBC Doctor Who website they have a page for each of the episodes that get posted as soon as the ep airs. On each episode page there is a section called "The Fourth Dimension" which is usually episode factoids relating to continuity and whatnot, however someone noticed that random words seem to be in italics in these sections. If you take the italic words out they form a message, a different one for each episode. The last message was a clue that lead to a hidden link to that video.

We have a full on ARG going on here people.

You know what Doctor Who needs? A good old fashioned bubblewrap monster. Haven't had one of those for decades.

This sort of thing

The way it was originally portrayed, that's quite possible. I seem to remember The Master animating a telephone cord to strangle Jo Grant.

You know what bothers me about the Doctor and River? No real spoilers but just in case...
Spoiler:
I would buy that we see the series as (mostly) a chronological progression through the Doctor's experiences. And I get and love that they meet out of order and that time is timey-wimey. But that they meet EXACTLY in the reverse order of River's own timeline? Really? How likely is that?

Sure, it makes for some great heart-string-tugging scenes and lines but I would have been much happier if they never knew who was ahead of who (of Who?).

Leela and Ace still beat Amy, IMO. As of Day of the Moon, River is at the top of my list, though.

That said, most companions get at least one crowning moment of awesome.
