The Matador

Postby Aleril » Sun Mar 09, 2008 4:47 am UTC

I just got done watching this sort of overlooked movie and I found it to be really great dark comedy.

Basically, an assassin's who is having a mid life crisis (Pierce Brosnan) meets up with a promising salesman (Greg Kinner) and start an awkward relationship and to find a way to get the assassin from being taken out for messing up a job because of his crises.

It's humor is not as dark as something as Fargo, but it is pretty dark. Also the acting is great and the story is well paced.

Anyone here see it?

I saw it in theater a few years ago. It was alright, but I didn't love it too much.

I thought it was deliciously dark, and one of Pierce Brosnan's finer roles, but I can't place his accent. It doesn't seem particularly consistent.

This is a hilarious film to watch whilst inebriated, I must say. Makes you feel more empathetic to both men's plight.
Away, you scullion! you rampallion! You fustilarian! I'll tickle your catastrophe.
