Seven Pounds

I've gotta say, pretty damn sad movie. In fact, the friend I watched it with and I have decided that, in our next drunken moment, amidst dozens of other party-goers, we are going to get stoked and yell, "LET'S WATCH SEVEN POUNDS" and ruin it all.

I saw it with some friends, we figured the whole thing out in the first half hour, so that made the rest of the movie pretty boring... it was still good though.

Tsk, tsk, Durandal, it's not just the destination, but the journey. Or something.

I haven't actually seen it yet, but figure I will eventually when I'm in the mood for a sad movie. I know what happens (but not how) though. Hell, I knew exactly what it was about the first time I saw the preview a couple months ago and have been somewhat surprised that more people (including the several members of my family who saw it expecting something very different and who were quite disappointed, upset, and offended) didn't pick up on the clues/vibe. Especially coupled with the title. Then again, that reference isn't common knowledge or necessarily immediately inferred in truncated form.

...God, I sound pretentious. :)

Spoiler:
Does it have to do with the Merchant of Venice?

And I dunno, the vast majority of the movie's success hinged on you not knowing what exactly motivated the character to do those things.

Yes.

Also, I was just messing around. I haven't watched it yet so what do I know. :)

Exactly why Ebert liked it.

Does anyone else think the trailer for this movie is the vaguest they've ever seen?
No one I ask seems to know what it's about.
JFGI, I know I know.
