The sci-fi stuff was fun, but I thought the story meh, and the motives were kind of dumb.

Also the evil people-eating things were called Creavers. And the captain was called Max Reynaud (Mal Reynolds....) and was very obviously acting like Nathan Fillion. (By the way, he was played by the guy who played Nathan Stark on Eureka. I KNEW he looked familiar!)

The sci-fi builder guy was the actor that played Quark on DS9, right?

Also, Thorian blaster?

Heh. Zoe's on this week. Does Whedon produce this show or just do the casting? :)

I didn't mind it. Every so often, Castle has an episode or two where they ignore anything that might make sense and just go crazy. It's part of what makes it not yet another shitty cop show.

I actually predicted this. It was foreshadowed in the Pandora. But when they said

So this show is on TNT I think some evenings, and I will turn it on some times, because hey, Nathan Fillion. I usually don't catch the beginning, or don't pay much attention. Last night watched two full shows - and I picked the killer basically within a minute of him being introduced on the screen. Anyone else notice this? It just felt so obvious.

Yep, it's almost always pretty obvious. It is a lighter show, but I think that's part of the reason why I like it: it doesn't seem to take itself too serious; to me that makes it more appealing that any CSI, NCIS, Bones, etc. It's just a light show that is easy to follow and it's good when you want some distraction but nothing too heavy.

I stopped watching this show quite a while ago because I was fed up with the writers drawing out of the Beckett/Castle tension. I figured I'd watch something else and come back when Castle and Beckett finally get together. I saw a promo on TV the other day and it sounds like it happened a while back. I watched the season 4 finale and got to see them hook up. The premier of season 5 goes back to the crime solving (this is, after all, a crime show), but I want to catch up on the Castle/Becket romance. What episodes should I watch to see how they handle their relationship?

There's a recap episode about a bomb and one where her dad meets his mom. Also the last two episodes of the season.

BEST EPISODE YET!!!!!

Spoiler:
I was really, really hoping that it would turn out to be time travel, and they didn't disappoint. Joshua Gomez was brilliant. All in all, a good, fun, episode to have.

I'm not so sure how I feel about this season's start

Spoiler:
I generally hate the amnesia type episodes. The fact they're going to drag this out for multiple episodes (and god forbid the whole season) is going to be kind of annoying.

Yeah, that could've been paced better
Spoiler:
The whole episode could've easily fit into the first fifteen minutes. If I want to watch an entire episode where nothing really happens, I'll watch season 2 of The Walking Dead again. At least drop us a teaser of whodunnit.

I agree.

Spoiler:
As soon as the amnesia thing came up, I groaned. I was hoping he was lying, but the whole tsunami thing and the fake Jenkins pretty much points away from it. My money was on 'secret spy mission with Pops who'd saved him from the guys in the SUV', but don't think so now.

Also, he could have easily been coerced into making that drop. No one seemed to think about that? Seemed very weird. Like, who on Earth has a deaddrop site somewhere where there's a camera with a perfect view of the place?

Also, who one Earth takes out $10 000 from the bank for a honey moon? Cards are so much safer, and don't tell me he couldn't afford the charges.

Spoiler:
Well either I missed something when watching but the "gone for 2 months" thing threw me way off. Especially when she was looking in the tent at all the newspapers. Was there a caption or something at some point that said "2 months later"? When Laney was talking about how he was shot a couple weeks ago I thought they meant BEFORE the wedding.

And yeah I was so surprised the seasoned detectives immediately thought him doing the drop meant he was in cahoots with them. Both me and my wife were like "uh maybe the kidnappers just forced him to do the drop?"

They did mention the 2 months thing but subtle-like - they had the camera fade to Beckett looking at a newsppaer clipping saying 2months later on the board they had up.

So, some pretty intense lampshade hanging. I still don't know how I feel about it, but at least I feel like the writers are apologising?

I was hoping this would have to do with Castle's disappearance and a hacker leaving a (shredded) paper trail? The instructions weren't that complicated, why print them out?

Apparently a season of Firefly reunions wasn't enough. :-\ I still liked the show in a morbid sort of way, but I'm certain it ran its course and then some. I hope we'll have something else to cling to after this, like maybe a new Firefly...

Yeah, it was about due for an ending (especially after the last season finished up with a perfect series-finale episode.) But at least they pulled it off reasonably well (if a bit abruptly.) Definitely better get Fillion in something else ASAP, though.

(Also: CBS, you're doing a new Star Trek. Protip: Stana Katic, iron-willed Starfleet captain. You're welcome.)

Yeah it was plainly obvious that the finale was supposed to be a season finale and end before the little montage they added. Would have been a good cliffhanger.

Spoiler:
Would also have let them kill off Beckett since her contract wasn't being renewed anyways, though if something did change they had an out to keep her on board

(Thankfully, from what I understand the new series won't have anything to do with the reboot. Hopefully JJ and his crew aren't allowed anywhere near it either...)
