Nathan Fillion and Zach Braff (and possibly Will Ferrell)

Postby Belial » Sun May 06, 2007 5:57 am UTC

Seriously, we saw a preview for an upcoming movie with all of these people. Someone may have been falling down some stairs. And there was a wheelchair involved at some point.

And we have no idea what it was called, and there is no evidence of it anywhere on the interblags.

First person to tell me what the fuck this movie is called gets.......

......to live.

I think I remember seeing an ad spot for it, but wouldn't you know it, I can't remember the title either.

EDIT: If I remember right, it didn't sound like a movie I would be interested in.

Yeah, Randy and I sat here and IMDB'd and Googled everything we could think of to turn up this movie, and we've got *nothing*.

Girl is convinced we hallucinated the commercial.

What is "People who are no longer funny."

Do I win?

I kid. I love Scrubs, but his humour's getting outdated. Will Ferrel is ok, but I never saw the "amazing comedic ability" that people tend to put upon him. I guess I like my humour a little more subtle.

But people in wheelchairs are falling down stairs in the EX: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpnnZ3LvN-0&eurl=

And Messiah: If absurdist humour is outdated, then what is "modern" humour like?

Instead of "Haha, he swore" or "Haha, sex/toilet joke," have a clever turn of phrase, well-performed satire, you know - real humour.

Just think of what Will Ferrel is. And then think of the opposite.

While Will Ferrel is far from the most intellectual of comedians, he does have the odd moment of comedic brilliance. sure, its brilliance that you see with three friends and a few beers, but this 'clever turn of phrase' is far from beyond him.

'If we hadda wanted sissies, we woulda named 'em [his two sons] Dr Quinn and Medicine Woman!'

even do, i find that his movies are best watched with no expectations at all. i loved talladega nights because i went in expecting to walk out. i hated anchor man, because i had been told it was the funniest thing since the life of brian.

Are you confusing Nathan Fillion with Jason Bateman? they do look kind of alike.
My old signature was old, so here is my new one. It is new.

Actually I was talking about "Scrubs" not Will Ferrell. I don't particularily like his kind of humour. (Although he's great on SNL) EDIT: and I wouldn't describe it as "absurdist".

Scrubs is just running out of material. Everything becomes a repeat. Or a rip-off of other programs.

Yes! We were confusing Jason Bateman with Nathan Fillion! Mystery solved! It helps that I just watched Arrested Development, so the face was definitely familiar.

My friend Sarah commented that at one point there were three actors she was watcfhing, on and off, who all looked like each other -- Nathan Fillion, Jason Bateman, and someone else. I forget who, but refuse to lose sleep over it :)

My bet for the actually movie is The Ex with Zach Braff and Jason Bateman. Only thing IMBD says Will Ferrell has coming up is Step Brothers and Semi-Pro. Will ain't in it.

Oh, yeah, we were never sure about Will Ferrell. There was a guy in a beard who I thought was him, but I have no trouble believing I was wrong.

This movie sounds less awesome by the minute. As much as I like Zach Braff, he better not get all emo in this one again.

The only bearded guy I can see is Donal Logue. But it really depends on what Charles Grodin looks like. He might be more Will Ferrell style. Oh well.

Is the storyline comedy, or is ZB doing more drama crap?

I think Will Farrel is some sort of genius. Personally, I hate Zach Braff. But if anybody says anything bad about celebrity jeopardy, I will fight you.
You've just lost twenty dollars and my self respect.
