I didn't put this earlier because I didn't think anyone would get the reference, but now...

Jacinta, from the Second Sons trilogy.

Oh, a sin of omission! I want Jacinta, too. Add her to my list.

I thought we'd been over this; Jacinta is mine. But you can have R'Shiel as a consolation prize.

Can't we just share? Otherwise, I'll just make her choose, and we both know she didn't show any leanings towards being a fan of The L Word, if you catch my meaning.

And to avoid getting off-topic, I'll add Sharon Valeri from Battlestar Galactica.

THANK you for knowing which characters are the awesome characters.

But of course! :) Perrin is kind and gentle and modest, but will kick all amounts of ass when necessary. And slice throats with an ax! He's smart and loyal and strong and warm and moral and has frickin' golden eyes and talks to wolves. That's like, my lifelong dream. Blood and ashes! The only problem is I can't decide whether I'd want to do him or be him more. Hmm...I think do wins!

And Min is just fantabulous. Smart, funny, strong, caring, capable. She's a woman...who wears pants!

I'm thinking about naming future kids after them. Perrin (or some weird spelling thereof) Michael Justin Whatever and Raesha Min Whatever Whatever.

Freyja wrote:Now I've noticed that a couple of you have Shane (of the L Word) on your lists. Honestly, if she didn't have all of that commitment-phobia B.S., she might actually beat Dana for a position on my list.

Hehehe. Yeah. Although a number of characters on my list are people I love, but wouldn't necessarily want to be in a relationship with. Some (like Shane or Mr. Kinney) have a major lust factor going on, but I'd be fine/probably prefer being a best friend to them who sometimes thinks naughty things. Then there's Ponyboy and Johnny Cade and William who are 14, 16, and 15 respectively who I just want to hug and hang out with and make everything be okay for while the 15 year old me blushes. Which reminds me of another character for my list: Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Wow. Maybe those guys in 5 or so years...

I'd totally marry Perrin though.

Also, the internets stoleded my Brian Kinney so now I'm gonna link to more pictures of Brian / Gale Harold. The first and last ones are my favorites.

See, I have this knack for wanting the unattainable. Hence, Shane's magnetism. She's got it in the show, and I'm a faithful follower.

Seriously, though (and somewhat OT)? I bet Alice would make the best girlfriend. Neurotic and a little loopy, sure, but still.

I loooooooove Alice. And not just because Leisha Hailey made up 1/2 of The Murmurs.

See, it's that insanity that would kinda drive me nuts. And she's too clingy. I mean I love Alice, but if she were a real person, I could only be friends with her. She'd be a great friend, but so not girlfriend material for me.

But yes, Shane does have some major lust points (as do Carmen- even though Sarah Shahi is so not Hispanic looking- and Dana). I don't have a thing for the unattainable, but she is loyal to her friends and really would do anything for them, and that's awesome. But the infidelity thing is such a killer. The only way I'd even entertain the idea of having the unattainable is if the unattainable came to me. I can't imagine wasting the effort and emotion trying to chase her.

Yeah, I have the knack too. I've done the whole "in love with hot, unattainable best friend" thing so I figure I'd be good at it. *Grin*

Alice is rad. Too bad I've only seen all of the first two seasons and some of the third.

Edit: And yes, Carmen is gorgeous. :)

Edit 2: I also think Daniela Sea is hot, but not the character ze plays on The L Word. Yay androgynous transgendery folk. Pretty interesting person in real life.

How the hell has nobody said Indiana Jones yet?

Also, Detective Harry Callahan, anybody that Bruce Lee played (or that the actors of the previous two characters played, for that matter).

As for other sorts of media:

Spike Spiegel (duh), Jack Bauer, Dr. Greg House, Mike Weston and Fiona Glenanne (Burn Notice, highly recommended)

... I have a lot of man crushes. For some reason significant female characters of interest (other then the one from Burn Notice) aren't coming to mind right now.

Re: Indiana Jones: Panels three and four in Questionable Content #723. Oh Hannelore, I'm sure Indiana wants you too.

Mine are mostly kickass anime females. It's kind of my thing, and I don't get it either. In no particular order:
* Motoko - Ghost in the Shell (nearly any version, but I <3 Stand Alone Complex)
* Riza - Fullmetal Alchemist
* Yuuko - xxxHolic
* Faye - Cowboy Bebop

Not anime, but still kickass:
* Celes - Final Fantasy 6
* Just about every female in Firefly (but especially River)
* Samus - the Metroid series
Kawa likes these things:
Spanish Ninja Bodyguard
math, anime, more!
Origami, Florida
New York, and xkcd.

Okay, I considered putting Indy on my list, but I deleted his name at the last minute. Why? Because, like Shane, he's one-night stand material. He's never with the same girl twice. He just never sticks with them for long. That doesn't fly. Now if he were to decide that he could stay with one person for an extended period of time, then maybe I'd consider putting him back on my list.

230 pages into American Gods, I can say that Shadow is one of my favorite book characters ever. I don't know why he's so endearing, but he is.

Jenny Sparks from The Authority. And having only started watching Veronica Mars in the 3rd season, I can say she's a pretty cool character. Now to find seasons 1 and 2...

I admit, my first TV love was animated - Bumblebee from Transformers. (Is it bad that a girl has a crush on an animated robot? Oh well. If that's wrong, I don't wanna be right.)

Hmm, who else...

Apollo from the original Battlestar Galactica.
Sean Patrick Flannery as the young Indiana Jones - cute, smart, and resourceful. Yum!
Inara from Firefly. I would temporarily switch teams for you, my love.

I do have to add one book character here:
Remus Lupin from the Harry Potter books. This may be odd but he's kind, gentle, smart - and, yes, cursed. From what I've read, Sirius Black gets all the love from most women, but Remus is the better man.

Oh! That reminds me. I need to add Amy Gardner (played by Mary-Louise Parker) from The West Wing (pic).

It must be annoying as hell to most people, but when she talks out of the side of her mouth with that sarcastic, snarky sense of humor, I just want to hug her. And a few other things, but that crosses the line from character love to lust, hehe. :twisted: Anyway, she's a strong female figure, and she's a force to be reckoned with. I adore her.

How did I say Donna and not mention Amy?! I have sinned greatly, for Amy was a crush exceeding that of Donna, although both are amazing in their own ways. Gah, now I wish Josh Lyman were a real person and that I was him again, I thought I'd gotten over that. They both totally deserve to win the Francis Scott Key Key.

Ben, Jordan's brother, from Scrubs. He still the best character from the show.

Dr. John Carter-ER, he basically grows up over the decade he's on that show and you can't help but love him.

David Gale from the movie the Life of David Gale. If you haven't seen this movie go watch it now. The main character is played by Kevin Spacey. Come to think of it Kevin Spacey's characters are always amazing whether it's K-Pax or the Usual Suspects....he never seems to disappoint.

Sara Sidle and Greg Sanders from the original CSI (but not together)

Lucas from Empire Records (and Rory Cochrane's character on CSI: Miami until they killed him off. I stopped watching after that.)

And I'm sure there are others. But those are the easy ones for me to pull up.
