Umm, anyway...

I'm listening to 'The Wings Of A Film' by Hans Zimmer. It's a live recording of music he wrote for the Lion King, True Romance, Driving Miss Daisy, Gladiator and a bunch of other movies.

It's Peter Gabriel covering the Magnetic Fields. It's...apparently off the soundtrack to Shall We Dance. It's one of the many random songs a friend dumped copies of on my (once) newly bought laptop. :)

Sigur Rós - Staralfur

Sigur Rós - Popplagið

I bought Screaming Masterpiece recently and it has the last three or four minutes of an incredible performance of the latter song in the opening. (Trailer) It's a really cool documentary on Icelandic music.

Say Hi To Your Mom - Your Brains Vs. My Tractor Beam

The highlight of this song is the sweet keyboard jam in between verses.

at dawn, the day was ghastly
like a western, but in the east
we spent the night training for showdowns
and microwaving marshmallow treats
and now our adrenaline's rushing
and you are my arch-nemesis
you're still mad that i copied your hairdo
i'm still hoping you won't notice

and you pawned off your decoder ring
and you wrote it out in invisible ink
but your brains are no match for my tractorbeam
but your brains are no match for my tractorbeam

the surround is encapsulating
theremins they sound twice as big
the closed-circuits gonna put on ten pounds
but we'll learn to get rid of them
everybody keep on dancing
but the code word's inside your head
it's delightful just for today
and tomorrow we'll go pre-med

and you pawned off your decoder ring
and you wrote it out in invisible ink
but your brains are no match for my tractorbeam
but your brains are no match for my tractorbeam
