What's Your Stripper Song

Postby Mighty Jalapeno » Wed Mar 12, 2008 9:34 pm UTC

If you were a stripper (God knows there's not enough nerdy ones!), what would be your signature stripper song?

I don't know if this deserves it's own thread, but we had some GREAT ones surface on a different board. :)

Mine would be "The Tragically Hip - So Hard Done By" (the best version I can find is a Stargate Atlantis fanvid)

The bukkake song. I sincerely think, other than the 'ooo' bridge, it would make an awesome stripper song.

Or, of course, Gunther's Tra La La song.

Though, I did see a stripper in New Orleans bust out with some Rasputina. Was freaking awesome.

My choice would be The Gossip's cover version of Aaliyahs 'Are You That Somebody?'. Or possibly Lusty by 'Lamb'. Stripping to sexy trip-hop sounds like fun.

Maybe 'Threshold Apprehension' by Black Francis

Who's carrying who?
Who's turning the screw?
Who has prophesied?
Petit paramour
I will be the whore
And you'll be my suicide

Or maybe 'Who The Fuck?' by PJ Harvey, 'cause I'm listening to it now. In fairness, I don't think I would make a good stripper, but eh.

I've always thought that T.Raumschmiere - Himmel Über Berlin would be my ideal stripping song. It's got a wonky bassline, and the rhythm is strong but with some severe swing, so it's easy to dance to. It has plenty of mid-range noodlings that you could use to highlight yourself waving around your clothes in a seductive fashion. * Y'know, when strippers hold a garmet that's not quite undone, and kinda wiggle/wave it around showing a tiny bit of flesh? Finally, it's pretty weird, and quite honestly the idea of me taking my clothes off for someone else's pleasure is pretty weird, so it's appropriate.

* I wonder if strippers call that foreshadowing? Is there a stripper vernacular? I wouldn't know, I've never met a stripper or been in a strip club and base all my knowledge on movie strip clubs.

Touch-a Touch-a Touch Me from The Rocky Horror Picture Show :D

Just kidding.

I'd be the disillusioned, resignated kind of stripper and my song would be Love Is Blindness by Trespassers Williams. Perfect for a slow strip in a dimly lit club full of heart broken losers, half an hour before it closes.
Sorry it's just a small bit from the song, but I only found the original by U2 on youtube.

This is amazing.

Of course, now I'm imagining Zero Mostel stripping while singing it. I can't decide if it's scarring or hilarious. Probably both.

Both, easily. Though I myself was imagining the little shimmying pointy-dance that the guy in the movie does as part of the routine, which would lead to moob jiggling and DEFINITE blinding.

For me, just about any AC/DC will work. But more specifically, "You shook me all night long" or "She's got the jack".

Especially if tequila is involved. (tequila makes my clothes fall off)
I want to get to a place where I am neither conforming nor rebelling but simply being.

You could make this happen much more subtly by using the Scissor Sisters cover.
Also, were I to do such things, I'd likely go heavy on Placebo. "Taste in Men," "Pure Morning." That sort of mess. And "Magdalena" by A Perfect Circle.
I have nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion.
And some old pictures.
