Final Tune

It's only cool if no one's heard of it.

Final Tune

Postby Titch » Fri Aug 07, 2009 7:49 pm UTC

I know it seems a pretty sombre thought, but I was wondering what type of tune most people would want played at their funeral-like, a classic rock anthem, or a slow ballad, or even metal? And if you know, what would your tune be?

I know it seems really cheesy, and most people probably won't like this choice-but I would probably want The Last Goodbye, by Black Label Society. I know it's a pretty depressing tune, but it's got to be one of my favourite songs ever. I mean, I was so used to hearing Zack Wylde's rough side, all the heavy stuff, and when I first heard this, I thought to myself he should definitely do more ballads. But yeah, I absolutely adore this tune, and it's probably got to be my choice.

the hold steady - killer parties

if they ask about charlemagne
be polite and say something vague
like another lover lost
to the restaurant raids

if they ask why we left in the first place
say we were young and we were so in love
and i guess we just needed space
and we heard about this place
they called the united states

we found out virginia really is for the lovers
philly is full of friendly friends
that will love you like a brother
pensacola parties hard with poppers pills and pepsi
ybor city is tres speedy but they throw such killer parties

killer parties almost killed me

if she says we partied
then i'm pretty sure we partied
i really don't remember
i remember we departed from our bodies
and we woke up in ybor city
i am a poet and an artist

i don't wanna worry about dyin'
i just wanna worry about sunshine girls

Probably Eleanor Rigby. And then Don't Worry, Be Happy.

Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, with an annotation in my will that everybody there must sing along.

Gymnopedie No. 1 would be rather nice.

I think some classical unadorned piece like that. None of the other music I know seems to suit.

Dream Theater - The Spirit Carries On
Porcupine Tree - Collapse The Light Into Earth

One of those two.

There is already a thread for this.
