How do we keep dickheads from spamming our forums? :(

Confirmation email, dynamic code that needs to be entered. Those two are all we really should need.

Something's wrong with the registration process, because the bots are better at it than I am.

When I first registered on this forum (under my regular handle), I got my confirmation mail, activated the account, but couldn't log in. I tried registering again, but it didn't work because the name was already in use. So I had to make this name up.

on one of the other forums i joined they had a box you have to check that says 'are you a human?'

That should get most of the spam-bots!

Do you think a velociraptor could beat a robot? Specifically I'm thinking of the T1000.
