Basically I bought a zalman CNPS7700 but that turned out to be way too big, much bigger than I expected. Now I'm looking for something I can fit in an antec nsk1300, I think zalman do a low profile cooler that might just squeeze, but i'd like to hear some suggestions.

I think the first question would have to be, do you plan on Over clocking the computer? If you do not then you can get away with using the stock Intel HSF as long as you have decent air flow in the case.

If you plan on OC'ing the Q6600 then you are not going to get away with a small heatsink/fan combo. The Q6600 doesn't run hot perse such as the P4 processors but the thermal output(btu) is much higher then most single/dual core chips.

I would like to recommend another site that is catered to high performance computers http://hardforum.com these guys are very helpful and usually rather quick to reply to questions posed(if you do so in the correct sub-forum).
