If so, it is a very good ginger beer. Highly recommended.

Oh man I love Bundaberg. And pull tab caps! My favourite brand of beer (when I drank) had pull tab caps. Very much prefer.

I don't care. I like both brands.

What I like to do is go to 7-Eleven, grab a Big Gulp, and fill it 50/50 with Coke AND Pepsi.

What about when you got to Subway, and get the refillable cup thingy, and put all the different flavours in it. That's the best soft drink ever. Everything all mixed up.

I was at a Burger King last week that had a sticker on the soda fountains with "mixed drink" recipes. It was...odd.

Although it does taste great, Subway is among the majority of chains that's biased. Everything in the fountain is from the same company.

Are there any other chains besides 7-Eleven that provide a soda fountain with both brands? I'm having difficulty finding any.

You know, I always assumed that DrinkServin'Company X had some kinda contract they signed with Soda Company Y that basically had a standard non-competition clause... that is, they're only allowed to serve one company's brand O'drink.

I have no idea if this assumption is actually based in reality.

From memory, the arrangement is less 'you are only allowed to sell our product' and more 'if you only sell our product you get it at the "discount" price. if you want to sell the product of our competitors, it will not be as cheap.' Has much the same effect.

I could be wrong.

My university had a contract to only sell Coke products on campus, with the sole exception of Gatorade, since we invented it and all.

I just had some Red Rock Golden Ginger Ale today. It is some amazing stuff, really. It has a great initial flavor, and then there's just the right amount of kick afterwards, as an aftertaste, basically. It was amazing.

Why is there no choice for "whatever's most readily available"?

Yes, I can *easily* tell the taste difference between the two. No, I *don't care* about it. Generally. Sometimes I specifically want one or the other.

I second this. Although, I voted coke due to the fact that even though I don't really care I find that if given the option and if they are the same price I go with Coke.

Coke of course. The only thing that Pepsi does right is their vanilla, which is a bit more tastier for some reason.

That, and Coke has a fancier can :)

Does IZZE count as soda? If so, then that is far and away the best soda ever. It's like juice mixed with awesome, and no health-ruining crap interferes with the flavor.

If not, then I go in favor of Jones (Seattle pride!). And past Jones, then I say Vanilla Coke was the best ever (we mourn its loss), and though I used to be a rabid Pepsi drinker as a kid, these days I prefer Coke when I drink soda at all.
A good pun is its own reword.

I drink both. Coke > Pepsi but Diet Pepsi > Diet Coke, hmmm but then Coke Zero > Pepsi Max...

However, I have to throw my weight behind Coke for the single reason that I love Cherry Coke so much, and Wild Cherry Pepsi isn't availible here. I wish you could buy Cherry Coke in bars as I much perfer it as a mixer. Although I am tempted to buy a crate of Cherry Pepsi and some Mountain Dew from an import store.

When I read that, I immediately thought of this. Doesn't look too bad, albeit the double entendres.

Someone in another site pointed me to this site, where you can order just about any flavor or brand of soda you can think of. I plan to order Mexico Coke and Abita Root Beer. Why? Both are superior to their more well-known American counterparts (although Abita is made in America, it's not as well-known as its counterparts) because they are both made with cane sugar, bitches.

Sure, it's a bit steep (over $2 per bottle, plus shipping and handling), but I imagine it will be well worth it.

I like Coke way more than Pepsi, and as for their other products I'm kinda split down the middle. I'm disappointed by the lack of all the different flavors that we have available to us. I recently went to World of Coke, where they have pretty much all of their flavors from all over the world, and I was astounded by the different flavors from all of the world.

For example: the Beverly from France sucks. The Apple Fanta from Latin America is amazing. Actually, I found that in Latin America, there fruit based Coke products were a lot better than what we have in America. Also, the African ones were also pretty good. I found I didn't like the European brew as much.

Some drink serving establishments do have contracts with Pepsi or Coke, many places stick to one brand or the other because those two companies deliberately sell incompatible concentrate bag-in-a-boxes. So to serve both Pepsi and Coke products you have to have two different connections for you fountain system.

Coke, definitely. One of the most annoying things about pepsi is the removal of sugar from Pepsi Max - the can says "Maximum taste, no sugar", but it's been turned into caffeinated lemonade now :/

Voted "Other" meaning Jones Soda. Several good flavors (berry lemonade, green apple, fufu berry), plus great cream soda and root beer, and no corn syrup.

I will drink Coke or Pepsi as well, though, with a slight preference for Pepsi. However when I mix with liquor I use Coke (effective marketing I guess).

Mountain Dew is my achilles heel though. So bad for me, but I love it. I miss Game Fuel...

Rootbeers were mentiones, so I'll have to say IBC is the shit.

Coke, generally speaking.

On those days (or hours, or minutes) when I get the wild notion to cut back on caffeine, I go with Caffeine Free Dr Pepper since delta(unleaded DP, DP) < delta(unleaded Coke, Coke)

Or if I'm craving root beer, either bottled IBC, or A&W in frosted mugs. (I've even bought a couple of mugs from local A&W stands.)

The local Costco sells cases of bottled Mexican Cokes, and sometimes I'll splurge and pick one up.

While we're on the subject of cane sugar, I'm surprised no one mentioned Dublin Dr Pepper.

And although I know this is a few months old:

Unbeknownst to me until recently, the Cajun restaurant near work sells Abita Root Beer as well as other Abita products (Turbodog, Purple Haze, and Amber beers). I bought a bottle one day, and yea it was good. A lot better than either A&W or Barq's.

They both taste disgusting. Absolutely revolting. Mountain Dew vs. Sprite would be a better debate, in my opinion. Oh, or better yet: not just two choices. A whole list of sodas, and we'll see who's truly the winner.

According to the search function, nobody in the history of the xkcd fora has mentioned IRON BEER!!! Dr. Pepper meets Cuban spices? Yes please!

Seriously though, if you've never tried the stuff, run to your nearest Cuban restaurant and order one with the roasted chicken. It's delicious.

Edit: I voted coke, but, seriously? The world does not consume soft drinks in black and white. And you forgot otter/duck.

Losing badly, I assume because people feel the need to chime in on the coke vs pepsi debate (I did, at least). And I wasn't exactly being serious about critiquing the survey
