Raw Materials

Postby lgonick » Sat Jul 05, 2008 10:23 pm UTC

I'm a full-time cartoonist now, but I used to be a mathematician. Well, math grad student, really. Then a lot of my hair fell out. I just started a new web comic http://blogs.discovery.com/raw_materials/ that's tech-based. It may seem a bit, er, expressive compared to what we see here, but do let me know what you think. Comments can be left here, on the site itself, or by email via my web site, accessible from the comic page.

Really, very nice. The art's good AND the jokes hit nicely . . . which is probably why you're award-winning, right?

Curious, to me, this trend toward comic strips where the art is getting more and more minimal and iconic. Even more curious to me is that I like 'em! 'Cause I was raised at a time when drawing was at least as important as writing in comics. What do it all mean?
