This is my first time sketching a human. Thanks graphitegirl for getting me back into the art. I still don't have time for it, but it was a good way to occupy my time while watching Lolita.

This took me like 3 hours, because I am a perfectionist and can't just throw off a sketch like graphitegirl. It's something I wish I could do, but I don't have that talent. In any case, if someone wanted to PM me something, I'd give it a shot.

When you get all the portraits made, I recommend using Image Magick to make the collage. (`montage ~/Pictures/xkcd_portraits/* xkcd_collage.jpg' or wherever you have the portraits).

Great art by the way!

The commissioned posters have about a week and a half left to go, so after that, expect a portrait influx.

Okay. I used to draw so I though I would try my hand at this. I'm not sure how far graphitegirl got so I skipped to Moo. I did my best...I'm not that great at portrait drawing. Animals and landscapes yes, and generic faces okay, but specific faces, not so good. Ah well, here it is! I couldn't scan it so I took a photo of it. The hair looks washed out, it is more detailed in the original.

With all these people joining it, it certainly takes away the considerable pressure GG tried to place on me. Nonetheless I am still continuing at this. Since my friends haven't gotten back to me about the wedding portrait, here is my list:

self (in progress)
kellsbells
horisustar

if you would like to go on the bottom of the list send me a link to a super awesome pic which contains your entire head and isn't super blurry or glarey, along with a promise to wear the result as your avatar for some small period of time.

If you would like to go to the top of the list, send me a donation of at least $15 so I can replace my art supplies and an address so I know where to mail the original artwork (postage is included).

If you're wanting to ask "hey will you sketch me?" the answer is "yes, until I get tired of sketching people altogether"

Okay, last week I had three items on my list, now it's 2 down, 4 to go.
Oh well, time for my masterpiece, which took no less than four feature films to complete:

Kelly

Now, sketching someone in detail like this makes you uncomfortably familiar with their facial features. Many of you have probably wondered about Kells' "je ne sais quois." Well, I can tell you now, I do know what.

-the little pockets at the corners of her lips
-smile lines
-fashionable high-prescription glasses (love the way they distort her eyes)
-super-curly hair

Just for those who are interested in my process, I took several scans of this work as it was in progress:

:D Quintopia, that is amazing and I love it! Like, seriously. Love. It. And I'm all a-blush about my "je ne sais quois," as you call it. *massive hugs* You put so much work into this, and it's awesome.

I would *love* to have the animated version as my avatar (that's the coolest thing I've seen in ages), but I apparently fail at shrinking GIFs to avatar-acceptable proportions. Anyone want to help me out?
