9132.9 + 3.4 (in Vienna!) + 13.1 ('run to the beat', London). = 9149.4

First > 1:50 half marathon and I'm a bit hacked off with myself. Ran it 8 minutes faster last year. I know I'm knackered (been flying round Europe all week, didn't get home till midnight Friday) but hope this sudden drop in performance doesn't relate to declining fitness, or worse, increasing age. I shall contemplate later over a large whiskey.

I was going to do my usual Sunday 10k today, but y'know, it was around zero deg C, pissing down, I'm still cross with myself and I couldn't be arsed. So sue me. I'll do better next week.

Treadmill forced to stop at 10k due to auto cooldown. Anyone know how to disable the "feature"?

God, I wish. My gym's treadmills do this. My old gym's cooldown was annoying because you couldn't increase the time period. This gym's treadmills allow you to increase the time period, but it drops the pace down to 4.3 mph at every minute increment. I just reset the treadmill at 6.7 miles, which can be frustrating from a "mental game" perspective.

I don't know how you change it. I think gyms do it to discourage staying on a machine over a prolonged period of time so there won't be crowds (which really only becomes relevant during New Years, when the employees enforce the half hour limit rule like hawks.)

Dang. I was hoping for some good news. I like my gym though. Plenty of treadmills, no time limit, and it's free. For that, I can deal with the resets.

And, it turns out, you go down with a cold, get bogged down at work and don't rung for 2 weeks and you suddenly have no strength left in your legs. 2 weeks and it's like I have to start getting fit all over again. Who knew?

Feel free to check the math because I do kind of suck at the final addition, but I know the mile logs are correct since Oct. 12th.

Sorry I've been gone. School has been very busy, I somehow stumbled into a grown up relationship, and I am also lazy.

Still not back in shape. Lost some of the spring in my run and I could stand to loose half a stone. Getting a little pissed off with this.

Ashamed to confess that I have turned to the bycicle as of late. But truth is, bike has no rival as exploring vehicle. (manned vehicled, Mars not yet)

Urgh. Turns out that the combination of slacking off and eating terribly is NOT a recipe for running success.
